Thanks for the reply....I am talking about Muskogee. I would like to listen to Tulsa and OHP but for some reason I cant find the troop freq's and dont know if I could get Tulsa down here. Mam1081 has helped me alot with local freq's and programming this radio. This is all new to me. I have 2 older units where you have to put everything in by hand. I really dont know what this unit will do and what range the digital trunking has.

David

You can here OHP Tulsa on this system State of Oklahoma Trunking System, Various, Oklahoma - Scanner Frequencies

and the P-25 Muskogee on this one too Oklahoma Wireless Interoperability Network (OKWIN) Trunking System, Varies, Oklahoma - Scanner Frequencies

In the link listed above for the State of Oklahoma system, enter the freq's for the Muskogee site and the Coweta site (depending on your location) as well, on the RR page for the State of Oklahoma system if you click on the site name it will take you to a page like this:
RadioReference.com - Scanner Frequencies and Radio Frequency Reference Database
Showing you where the tower is and the coverage area of it.

After you enter in that site, then add the talkgroups for OHP Troop B,C and L and see what you get.
Also go to the OHP RR page and enter in the conventional freq's as well. Please realize that the Muskogee site on the State system is not linked to the OKWIN P-25 system so you have to create a separate system for it.

Thanks guys, I really appreciate all the help. I have some time tonight to mess around with it so maybe some of this will sink in. I am using the ARC500 software and cant figure alot of it out...like how in the world to save all these freq's....I click save(like to my desktop) but when I try to open it...it says it doesnt know how to. How to you manually enter freq's to upload on the software? I have messed around twice and removed all of the freq's I had planned to upload just because I dont know my way around this software.

Thanks again,
David

Up at the top of the ARC software you should see a internet tab click on it to open a link to RR, sign in pick the state then the county then the system check the sites on one side talkgroups on the other then hit import and it will paste it to the ARC program for you to edit how you want.

click on file at upper left then "save as" and give it a name. Establish a connection with the scanner before trying to upload anything to it. open the help file on the ARC on how to do that.

Thanks for sharing. Glad to see they aren't afraid to say no to some agencies.

Incidentally, I don't see any reference to the Muskogee-area P25 site being a separate system. They act like it's one big system.

I wonder why that is? ::rubs chin::

I am sure that OKWIN officials and Motorola have some sort of a changeover plan in place, complete with a weekly schedule.

Judging from the OKWIN meeting minutes (links elsewhere in the thread), this is exactly what they are doing.

One difference here in OK from what other states are doing, I think, is that this isn't a "State System". Yes, the state has contributed to it, but so have the cities of Tulsa, Norman, Edmond, et al. Probably harder to manage that way, but probably better than having a state-imposed, take-it-or-leave-it situation.

The State of Oklahoma 800 System should be renamed to the Oklahoma Wireless Interoperability Network (OKWIN) Does everyone agree? Oklahoma Office of Homeland Security - Oklahoma Wireless Information Network (OKWIN)

I already submitted a request to rename the system last week, I'm sure whoever gets it just needs to figure out the correct name for the system and how to break it down IE OKWIN Phase 1 or OKWIN Mixed analog, acpo 25...

Let's see what I get back from the Admins about the renaming of the system.

I noticed the proposed Marietta site has had it's license expire probably because it didn't get built out
in time. Maybe there is going to be a new site around the Winstar Casino area????

Could be. That seems kind of close to the Ada tower between Roff and Ada. Unless they would be mutually exclusive as far as the kind of traffic it would carry.

When the LightHorse PD units are at WinStar they are good and clear on the Ada site as is linked to the other sites. I don't think Duncan has a site Lawton does though. The Chickasaws has a Casino between Duncan and Marlow Maybe a site at Duncan.

I did not know about the Chickasaw casinos in the Marlow area. Well Stephens and Jefferson counties are kind of orphans as far as OKWIN coverage A site in that area would fill a big hole. The Winstar traffic must enter the system through the Ardmore site.
