Just got a submission that Winfield PD in Union County are now being dispatched on the Union County PD channel (4279). Can anyone else confirm?

Winfield has been quiet today on their conventional and I've heard nothing on NJICS for them as of yet. It's not completely unusual to have a day without a peep out of them though if they're running a single man tour. Still listening to see what Winfield PD comes up on (...if they still exist and UCPD isn't now patroling).

Good amount of New Brunswick affiliations today and voice traffic logged on TG 4723. No encryption noted. I've also got their radios affiliating to 4589, 4725 and 4727, all RWJ MedCentral TGs and RU InterOp 1. RIDs in the 121399x range are probably dispatch consoles I would guess.

I went through the NB city council minutes back through 2015 and saw no references to the NJICS. I did find compelling evidence that it's only Fire migrating over. On 3/1/17 council authorized a purchase for the FD of 23 mobile and 63 portable radios from Motorola along with 5 Harris XG75s.

Meanwhile, the PD received authorization on 10/18/17 for funds to upgrade their Channel 2 to digital encryption and on 11/1/17 they authorized funding for a T1 line for their radio system.

I have Pro96Com running on the Telegraph Hill site. I don't have time to listen anymore so I just log and a couple times a week check on things. I'm about to hit 20,000 RIDs logged in Pro96Com and 424 TGs.

Telegraph Hill seems to pick up a lot of traffic from all over.

I noticed the same thing with my Unitrunker running on Rutgers site yesterday as well. Makes sense that they would go to the State for better inter-ops with Rutgers, encryption or not.

TG 4539 Another Plainfield group?

Heard encrypted traffic on TG 4539 Union Co Site with 2012 radio series, so presume another Plainfield group.

Winfield PD dispatched by County Police

I can confirm the Union County PD (4279) dispatched Winfield PD, units 603/604, to a reported gas leak in their town, around 1230am this morning (01/20). One radio ID was 2000453, if interested.

Well, It has been published in the newspaper now so I guess it's out...

Eatontown (Monmouth County) has appropriated money to upgrade their radio system. They are STRONGLY looking at this system. ALL borough functions will be going to this system.

Still looking to find out of it's only a MOTOROLA system or can TAIT or any other brands work on it?

Once they switch, I'll need some help finding the frequencies and talkgroups for them.

Thanks guys!

All brands of radios would be legitimate to use based on system standards, but it's wholly based on what REMU will allow.

Tait radios are just fine, as Montclair PD tested some of then before finally choosing the APX6000li.

Thank you very much! My agency uses TAITS on the county system and using them on the state system would alleviate the need for 2 radios. NOW to get both REMU AND THE COUNTY to allow another system on their radios...

Tait radios are already in use on NJ ICS, as JFK EMS Medical uses them with no issues whatsoever.

Does anyone happen to know if there have been any recent changes to the West Orange simulcast? The reason I ask is because I used to get terrible LSM distortion to the point where that system was unlistenable. But I started listening again in the past week and the sound is greatly improved. I'm wondering if they changed or removed any sites which may be reducing the LSM distortion? I have not made any changes to my antenna or scanner.

Ansky,

I am also in West Orange with a Pro 668 upgraded to a WS-1080. I am only monitoring the WO simulcast and no other towers and yes it has become slightly garbled. I even tried adding some attentuation thinking we are so close to the tower it maybe overloading the front end and that didn't help either. Montclair PD is extra loud and garbled. Newark FD is also garbled and Verona is also a bit garbled. NW crew25 is also garbled.

Trying to listen to Verona where I live in Verona is impossible now with this system.
