"Winfield PD will surely find the need to go Encrypted!"

once the njics is complete entire system will be encrypted so nobody should feel left out. only hope for some delay would be new governor and budget woes. why should a 30 yard dumpster full of $100 dollar bills be spent on something that the current 800 system does perfectly well. The cost alone to outsource the maintenance of a system like the NJICS would probably be close to some states budgets with monthly required "upgrades" and "patches"and all that BS.

I wonder what the upgrade cost for a low band base station transceiver was and how many patches were required to keep it running. could you imagine a statewide low band radio system with the infrastructure that is mandatory for one of these super systems.

When will the taxpayers finally revolt, perhaps a payroll deduction every payday.

makes me wonder how California(CHP) does it with their low band...

So what about Passaic county local towns? I’m up here, and everything is congenital analog minus a few select towns. Will they stay the same, or move as well?

Also, someone mentioned Wayne looking to move to NJICS? Any word on that?

My goof... I was just logging back in to add that it was only an affiliation and no voice call was logged.

Just a heads up, Hoboken council approved a resolution on 12/20/17 authorizing the city to enter into a user agreement with NJOIT for use of the NJICS. The resolution mentioned only the Hoboken Police Department and did not give a time frame.

Interesting in that Hoboken FD will be impacted by the T-Band giveback, yet Hoboken PD, currently using two (2) 800 MHz conventional frequencies, is planning a move to NJICS? Huh?

I thought Hudson County was planning on a 700 TRS buildout.

Just got a submission that Winfield PD in Union County are now being dispatched on the Union County PD channel (4279). Can anyone else confirm?

Cranford Central did a radio check tonight with Winfield patrol regarding a "new radio in the Explorer". Not sure about a change to county, but I wouldn't be surprised. I'll listen up tonight and report.
