Long Branch radios (RID 1327***) being denied on TG 4575 on Telegraph Hill. Still not seeing any new adjacent sites to any of the surrounding sites and not picking up any CC on the previously posted frequencies for the upcoming LB site.

Guys,

The state is planning another fill-in site in the greater Long Branch area. Please keep an ear out on these frequencies & report back when you start to hear a control channel:

Sorry this was posted in the main NJICS thread on Jan 4.

I have heard a rumor that Livingston Police is testing NJICS...there was a new tower installed on the property recently as well (who knows what it is for).

I am not sure if it would be all services, or just PD.

Mountainside Union Co TG 4541

TG 4541 on Union Co site appears to be Mountainside, radio series 2010xxx and locations heard back that up.

Anyone here that can "officially" confirm this so it can be added to database?

I'd check town meeting minutes. If its in there I'd say it makes sense, but I don't think mountainside of all places is moving.

I have a feeling it may be more county medic/ems, private or even county parks. Actually you may have stumbled upon the county radio techs too. There's a site up in mountainside.

They were just dispatching calls on Route 22, then complained of bad reception and said to switch back to 400. So maybe testing phase but it was certainly police calls, R-1, R-2 etc.

West Orange site. Did anyone notice a difference in signal quality in the last two days ?
I believe they may have changed there beam path, the reason I say this is for the last two days I
Heard nothing on west Orange .
I turned my beam in a different direction and now all is fine.

Weather ? Temperature inversion ?

Strange indeed .

Got late word that Verona Police plan to go live tomorrow morning. I assume talk group 4549 that they have been testing will be police dispatch, but we will see. There is one other talk group that I have not yet positively identified. Dispatch is supposed to be in the clear, and their second talk group may be encrypted.

All other township operations will remain on the EDACS for the time being. They have run into a number of technical issues that are being worked on.
More info as I get it.

One of the things that I think needs to be addressed it what PRIMARY site these agencies are using. For example, I know several agencies that use the W Orange Simulcast and are denied on the Union County Simulcast. While we are naming this thread "North Jersey" we are really not communicating that to the average scanner user. If one of those users fill time on W Orange (think NJSP B-4 Comm) have their scanner set up as one system roaming between different sites, once their scanner starts decoding another Simulcast cell or standalone site, they may lose that talkgroup unless a radio is affiliated to it. This is why I have mine programmed as different SYSTEMS or zones if you want to call it that. This way I can still monitor certain agencies on an adjacent site. The reason I'm posting this is a lot of new agencies are coming online. Let's take Springfield that has recently been discussed. I throw in their talkgroup but I'm locked on W Orange and hear nothing. Yet, if I throw in the Union Simulcast I can her them. This may be something for the wiki.

I will try to confirm but I'm pretty sure Verona will only be on the West Orange simulcast

The PD will hopefully start using the new radios this afternoon. The car radios are being installed all this week, so we will utilize portables until Pinnacle is finished. The other departments may go live next week.
