Anyone hear any rumblings about Scotch Plains Police full cutover? Seems everyday more and more units are coming over as simulcast from the ICS.

Union Co TG 4441 Encrypted

TG 4441 Union Co EMS is now encrypted, with a few transmissions in the clear, as they appear to be testing radios of various units. I believe this is a very recent change. Anyone have any "official" input on this one?

I think that tg is mislabeled. Every time I hear the county ambulances it is on the emergency management tg and the local ambulances and medics are on the I/0 3 tg.

Sounds like Union County and associated agencies concerned about HIPAA laws

I'll never fully get that... I don't give names and stuff on the air, but I do see where maybe an issue could arise, not that we have not been doing this for years already and I still call stuff on the HEAR radio. They once said to stop because of HIPPA but then started yelling at me for not calling in...

Someone make up my mind!

I heard the same this morning but my channel was labeled as FD2 (of course that could be me having to fix things)

Units advised now on new system and to no longer page on old system.

Did they get a new channel for paging? I am not aware of pager features on the Motorola on NJICS.... ??

We have repurposed 2 frequencies from the EDACS system to page fire and rescue. All members were issued minitor 6 pagers. Frequencies are in the database.

Not encrypted. Your scanner may have just had issues decoding the signal.

Also the TG is not mislabled. 4441 Union County EMS is for the dispatch and operations of County OEM Operated EMS. What you hear on Interop 3 is a patch to/from 460.100, which is used for County dispatched municipal EMS and MICU (ALS) dispatch.

Yes, I was going to ask about that. Is Union County EMS/FD actually considering keeping those conventional frequencies in use full time?

Is 33.78 still being used at all?

I was surprised to hear the Rescue Squad on VHF with a gorgeous full quieting signal this morning. I've heard two toneouts so far on this frequency and nothing on low band, which had been active a few days ago. Maybe I just locked onto the High Band signal first.

I'm not hearing anything on the PD patch on 472.4625/192.8 that's listed in the database, but then again that was never strong even to my 40' discone in West Caldwell.

We are no longer using low band for anything. The rescue squad has their vhf frequency patched into their dispatch talk group. Only a handful of members were issued NJICS radios, so the squad bought a bunch of Kenwood portables so they can still be in contact with dispatch.
Pinnacle is working on the fire department as we speak so EDACS won't be up much longer.
