Wow American Towers has a nice little site database with many photos of most of the MSWIN sites already.
American Tower - Wireless Infrastructure Solutions
Use the site locator tool at top right and select Mississippi as the search criteria. It appears all MSWIN sites are numbered 311### in their numbering scheme.

Also, I don't know if I've mentioned it before, but several P1 sites are starting to show up on Google Earth too. Seems they've updated a lot of their imagery for MS in recent months.

Well you're the forum moderator, not me...fix it :p:lol:

MSWIN

Actually it seems there's a bit of a bug with the automated url tagging. The closing url tag [/url] is being inserted between the N and the closing parentheses. This just happened with the above link as well. As you can see I was able to manually correct it though now that I see what happened.

Certainly not Vossburg. It isn't even built yet. Nothing is built out over that way. I was just there last weekend.
Probably one of the 2 new sites in built in Ridgeland and Madison
Possibly they've stuck a repeater on one of the previously microwave only towers at MEMA or Troop C HQ.
The highest numbered pre-planned site is 249, so this is definitely an add-on site regardless.

MSWIN is on the air(at least temporarily) in Washington/Bolivar/Coahoma counties as of last week. no word if these will stay on permanently, they were rushed into service for flood assistance.

With a PRO-96 you will have to manually monitor the freqs for your repeater site. The 96/2096 can NOT track 700 MHz TRS, or 380 MHz TRS. Sorry about that.

How can I manually monitor since my Pro-96 doesn't scan the 700mhz range? Pro96.com tells me to tune to the cc I want to monitor but the scanner tells me it's an invalid frequency.

Use Win96 to program the freqs in as conventional. Lock out the CC so the scanner won't lock onto the buzzzzzzz... You will not be able to see tg ID's, but will be able to at least hear traffic on the site. To fully trunk track this or LWIN, you need one of the newer digital scanners such as the PRO-106, BC996XT, Uniden Home Patrol 1.... etc. The 96's are awesome for what they can do, but they can't do 700 MHz TRS, 380 MHz TRS, or LTR. :)

Thanks for the info. My Pro-106 should be here in a few days!

Site 218 Lake

A new neghibor has been added... Site 253 is online on CC 769.91875, however I can't get on it... This site must be somewhere closer to Merdian cause I'm on the Jackson side...

N.MS MSWINN sites

Here's a few that are in ST currently. I'm assuming that's because they are waiting on MW BH.

Site 218 is Yazoo City not Lake

253 is most likely one of the four on hand spares put up as an emergency sites for the Delta flooding, and would make sense being a neighbor to Yazoo City, but not so much Lake.

Ok that's 1 SOW down, 1 to go. Obviously (now) former SOW 199, is at Camp McCain. (Duck Hill). Unless they've moved it since June's meeting.

Guess it makes it pretty futile to keep the SOW's in the DB permanently since it seems now they'll reconfigure them to fit in wherever they use them.
