Ok seems MDOT Enforcement is in the process of totally changing up the numeric part of their callsigns as of today. Seems they are moving towards using officer's badge numbers now going on one bit of traffic I just caught.

And BTW MSWINN placed a cow in Ridgeland by the DQ to help aid coverage for RPD. It appears to be online with a site id of 1100.

So far MDOT has pretty much no organization whatsoever concerning matching RID's to officers. Maybe they are now in the process of correcting that, but as of this moment almost nothing even remotely matches their posting or their badge numbers.

And BTW MSWIN placed a SOW in Ridgeland by the DQ to help aid coverage for RPD. It appears to be online with a site id of 1100.

Very interesting. Grab a Pro96Com log for it, and maybe a pic or two, first chance you get please. This will be the first time 100 has ever been seen active afaik. We've assumed in the past 100 was the MSOW but no idea if you can tell just by looking at it or not. If they're having problems then I bet another add-on site will be coming eventually.

Very interesting.... With the sheer number of sites active in that area, seems they would have no issues... LOL maybe they should stick with what was working.. aka the "Hinds" TRS???? And from multiple sources in the Public Safety infrastructure of Madison County: There are no current plans to fully move county volunteer FD's to MSWIN, or the "Hinds" TRS. Only patches will be used for the forseeable future to aid in interop with Madison FD, Ridgeland FD, and MEMA. Lack of $$$$. Madison SO will be using all three systems for the time being. They have good coverage with the "Hinds" system, and in the few spots that coverage is slim, the VHF seems to be doing fine. They have not reported any issues with MSWIN coverage thus far and seem to like it too. So educated guess: MCSO will eventually go all MSWIN, and use the CMSTRS as backup. RPD, RFD, MPD, MFD, still use the CMSTRS as well as MSWIN currently. After the next yearly contract review they may leave CMSTRS completely. With the constant fandangles in the Hinds/Jackson/Byram battling, its unclear what exactly will happen there. BPD MSWIN and maybe not long due to radio vendor issues... BFD CMSTRS. JPD/FD CMSTRS and apparently a battle over plans to go MSWIN in the city council... (AS USUAL) HCSO/EOC/DPW CMSTRS with definite plans to somehow get into MSWIN. AMR Has access to at least the MED COM tg's on MSWIN, and has I quote "4" talkgroups on CMSTRS..... No one's found them yet lol... Heard that MHP is returning the 800 MHz radios that Rankin gave them, and is doing same in all counties that MSWIN is active in. They will be keeping High Band radios indeffinately to interop with SO's etc. Also heard MSU/OC will transition once MSWIN is COMPLETE. MDOC and Forestry will be LAST to jump on as far as the state level.

Honestly I can't understand the need for a SOW to help 700 coverage at all either. Ridgeland is only ~5 miles from Lake Cavalier and ~8 miles from Sillers sites. Maybe it's a MW issue and not a 700 issue though.

EDIT: Has Lake Cavalier or Sillers been having issues maybe?

Very disturbing and truly pathetic the way the leadership of those areas have let radio comms become the boondoggle it has become over the years too.

NICE! How far away are you and are you getting good signal levels? You said it was near the Dairy Queen? What location etc...
I'll work on creating lat/lon/range based on this info so we can get it added.

Also 22653 is F&W Central A or B (Dist 3)

Given what we know about the south region so far I'm willing to guess with a fair amount of certainty this will be "Central A". Dunno about you but all I've heard so far are D3, D5, and D6 unit ids so far too.

Yeah, It's on a fairly nice hill there. I'd say the range is close to 10miles. It's mainly there to help with inbuilding coverage. Example being in the mall.

Intersection of Harbour Point Crossing & Old Canton Rd.
Lat/Long: 32.411116, -90.10614

Awesome. I was looking and see there is only one DQ now so I found it pretty easy. :D Is it in that empty lot that wraps around the DQ to south and east? (assuming it is still empty,)

Yeah, there's a vacant lot there for sale on the corner and it's sitting in it. And MW back to Lake Cavalier.

Great. All worked up and submitted. As time goes on I imagine there'll be several more site additions for that express purpose too. Maybe that lot isn't going to be for sale much longer? :p

Back in the game! (off topic-ish)

After a month and a few weeks of not having my scanner (sent it into RadioShack for repairs under warranty..they replaced both the front and rear casings, the yellow battery holder for charing batteries and the Charing logic circuit) I have it back now! Seems like I missed a lot! lol I have had it back for a few days now, and noticed im not hearing MHP D7 D8 or D9 like i was from the Raymond or Jackson towers :( Have they gone "localized" to only their area of operation? Also (im still looking) when i got my scanner back from RS, it was in tune mode but scanning and noticed just this morning a LOT of Frequencies in the 793 MHz area coming from the site in Raymond (etv). Will continue to scan and see if i can capture these (or maybe they are just birdies??)

Thanks for that info and the control channels at the bottom of your post....Im due to go back to Atlanta for Porsche Training within the next few months or so (go maybe twice or three times a year....maybe five this year) and I always do a "Traveling" scanlist from Jackson to Atlanta GA where the class is and had noticed a few sites near Meridian had no channels listed. Can you do a scan on Quitman Meegan and Decatur as well? If not I can try to do that on my next trip :)

Awesome! Having some of my freaky ducting from Raleigh and Bay Springs right now, in daylight hours no less! Raleigh is unchanged. Bay Springs has new neighbor sites 232 and 235 with CC freqs as reported by marvin above. FINALLY P2C is officially in wide area trunking it seems.

Ok so who's up for a trip to that area to nail down the rest? :D
