There are still a few agencies coming online that are FDMA (Phase I), but the majority will be TDMA (Phase II) capable, with a few coming on encrypted such as Ellisville PD.

Again, Jones County is now using the MSWIN, in TDMA (Phase II), with Ellisville PD Encrypted. If you do not have an PSR-800, BCDXXXHP, or wait for the 2 Whistler's, you will not be able to monitor Jones County.

Yes, Lee is converting thier system to MSWIN in the future, as is DeSoto and others. Starkeville/MSU/Oktibbeha also will be in the future as EDACS is going the way of the Dodo Bird. As for the DMR systems, you will need to have an tapped scanner and run DMR Decode, and software such as DSD+ to monitor them unless they run Encryption also.

Any idea if any of the others on Jones or Forrest co. Will encrypt?

Unfortunately, no. They are using TDMA, which the Homepatrol will not receive. Of the currently available radios, you'll need either a Uniden BCD436HP, BCD536HP or a GRE PSR800. Whistler is also slated to have a couple of radios that will receive it, but they aren't available currently.

If you have the HP-1 then you will not be able to hear the Jones County TG's on MSWIN.. The HP-1 does not do TDMA (P25 Phase 2), it only dos FDMA (P25 Phase 1). ALL Jones COunty Agencies thus far are using TDMA (P25 Phase 2). Plus Ellisville Police are full time encrypted, so you can not hear them no matter what you use.

You should be able to hear them on the tower you have programmed now, IF one of their units is close enough that it affiliates with that tower. As I understand it, whoever you are trying to listen to, someone's radio that is authorized for that TG has to be affiliated with that tower.

Also, I don't believe it necessarily has to be someone with a particular department. For example, when Lee comes online on MSWIN, even if a Lee county unit wasn't affiliated with your tower, say a MHP unit that's able to talk to Lee county affiliates with your local tower, you'll still be able to hear it.

I know, clear as mud, huh? lol

On systems like the MSWIN, unless the radios are set for the TG's to be local/zone/area only and only work with a single site, or grouping of sites, you literally could hear them anywhere that any radio with those TG's programmed in affiliates. Lets take Lee County SO for example... Lets say they get 4 TG's assigned, and have these in all SO Mobiles, HT's, Tupelo PD Mobiles and HT's, and certain EMA Mobiles and HT's, as well as certain MHP, MDOT, F&W, DOC units.... Any site that those radios affiliate with, will allow you to hear the traffic on those TG's when there is an broadcast, as long as the radio is powered up and affiliated.

Jones County MS WIN

All Jones County Law enforcement will be scrambled. All fire departments will not be. Most of the county has switched to the digital system as of this week. The Brocastify (Radio Reference)site for Jones County has been discontinued due to no longer having a compatible scanner.

Lincoln Co and MISWIN

My friend who lives in Lincoln County has informed me through a source that the Lincoln County sheriffs office has moved to MISWIN. As I am out of state and can not monitor and confirm talkgroups. My friend does not have the equipment to monitor P25 phase II TDMA as of yet. So hopefully someone in the area can monitor Lincoln County and provide new talkgroup updates for the database.

Y'all have a great day in the Magnolia State
