TALK ID 1176001 this is what is displayed on the screen of the Motorola APX 6000 HT when they transmit.

So instead of an nice text ID set up, they just are displaying the RID? If I press PTT on ours on the primary TG, the display shows HOMESEC DISP

So anyone in the Brookhaven MS area with MSWIN programmed in, make sure you have an wildcard for TG's set up so you guys can catch them.

I have an Uniden BCD436HP. I have been into scanning and monitoring, for decades, but I am a newbie, of sorts to this digital, technology. Simply, put, Lee County system is totally silent on my radio. I updated the firmware, Added a favorites list and wrote the data from here for there system, run Discovery Mode, yet still no results. Is there something I am missing?

You loaded the MSWIN sites for Lee County, and the Lee County TG's. Should be working.

Thanks milf, for responding to my question. I updated the firmware, and update the Master Database, thru Uniden, and that got me going. All agencies are open, now. Thanks.

DeSoto signed agreement, and SO is going to come on before long. Looking like in next year or two, they will convert the Legacy TRS to an MSWIN site, then everyone will come on. Thus joining Warren, Rankin, Lee, Jones, Forrest and in the future a couple of others.

OK after going over the MWCC minutes for last couple of months.... Add Hinds, Hancock to the future users of MSWIN.... From news story, Greenville FD .... So possibly Washington County.... Now the big question is, when Hinds fully moves over, will JPD, and JFD move over also, or will they go to the City of Jackson's Harris P25IP?

Correct, Tunica is still on the Legacy system. They too will be having to make the choices of conversion to MSWIN, or do their own upgrade to an P25 system in the near future.

Rankin County MSWIN STA Lic out: 5 site P25 Phase 2 LSM
WQWP693
Expires 11/20/15
SO its about to start popping. Looks like they may use all 5 sites as an simulcast cell, instead of just converting 1 or 2 like others have done.

Yea the SO converted over last week, however they appear to still be working out the bugs as the audio sounds horrible about half the time.

Why then has no one submitted the new site number, site NAC, neighbor list etc? New TG's? And amazingly it appears the SO did not go E as we were told they would if your hearing them.

And unless you have an PRO-96 with internal adjustment done, BCD436/536HP, or one of the new Whistler's with proper digital gain settings the audio is going to be horrible. Welcome to P25 LSM. Simulcast Multipath Distortion.

At this time Rankin County is running dual systems until tomorrow then it's 100% MSWIN. We are not really ready, but fire department now uses tone outs.

I'm new to the P25 world and just picked up a Pro 197. I have several tower sites nearby, should I program each or just the nearest one? I also noticed I can hear the MHP & MDOT from other areas around the state, is this common and if there are counties I don't want to hear do I just add the talk group so I can lock it out?

Just programming the one should work fine. But if you have surrounding counties on MSWIN, you may want to program them too. It just depends what you want to hear. If you travel and take your scanner, you may want to program other sites too. Just up to you.

It's common. What you hear from a tower depends what radios/channels have affiliated with that particular tower. It's very common to hear another channel pop up on your tower. For example, if a Marshall County deputy went to Alcorn County to get a prisoner and kept his radio on, you'd hear the Marshall Co. channel on the Alcorn tower while he was there.
I'm not sure about that particular scanner, but Unidens can either "scan" (just hear what you have programmed) or "search" (hear anything). The Pro 197 probably has a similar feature. And yes, you can always add a channel and lock it out.
