Also remember that Gov HB is having a big show off of the MSWIN to on the HK anniv. Thats why the SOW's are all in play down there so that the capabilities can be shown off. I would hazzard a guess that they will do a temp patch of all the local municipalities just to show it can be done, and maybe even patch in the USCG. Once the whole system is up, expect a MDD to take place using it. Lukily thus far hurricane season has been dead.

Which reminds me of something else I'm wondering. If phase one is complete why is Harrison county still using SOW's in the first place? Is that all Harrison county is going to get? SOW's and no permanent facility? I looked at the East Biloxi site today and there are actually two mobile comms systems set up there. Both of which look like they've been there quite a while. Not just a few months.

According to the info submitted there is a site there and online... The SOW's are just there at the downtown area for this big show off of the MSWIN, and to demonstrate how they function in the total package.

TRUST ME, it IS MDOT. I followed an MDOT car with some people in it and was sitting there watching the driver talk into his portable and was listening to him at the exact same time, I was following him driving from the IP to the Beau. They have a bunch of MDOT people down here right now and several of them are at the Beau and IP and they're using 8 vans to shuttle employees from the airport to the beau and IP. I watched it with my own two eyes. ID 101 is positively verified MDOT.

Not sure what TG 101 is but it doesn't really sound DOT related. Unless they are shuttling people between Casinos and the Airport. From what I am hearing it is a shuttle service for the airport. So far have heard references to the following:

Van numbers up to #18
"The Greens" (whatever that is)
The Airport
The Base
The Beau Rivage, The Hard Rock, and IP Casinos.
As I type this someone (apparently a dispatcher type) is trying to find out which shuttle some guys luggage is on.

Update: Van #15 leaving the Beau going to Wal-Mart.
Mr. Dispatcher guy just sent an attention all drivers asking if they do not have a cooler in their van with drinks and/or snacks to identify themselves. LOL

The two SOWs 1-198 and 1-199 were installed specifically for the National Governor's Conference. A personal friend of mine who works for Team One was one of the people who set those up. I knew about it a month before they even did it. Site 1-199 was located at the MS COAST COLISEUM, and Site 1-198 is still located across from Beau Rivage (visible on I-110). They also installed a microwave relay site at my workplace and used my office for MHP, FBI, SECRET SERVICE, MDOT LE, and other Security details dispatch during the conference. They installed all of this 1 month prior to the NGC.

Site 1-199 is gone, they apparently took it down a week after the conference, but site 1-198 is still operational, I've been listening to 21800 and 101 activity on it all week, and Milf, you're probably right, they kept that one installed for this test during the anniversary. These sites have only been here for about 2 months or so. I would suspect with the anniversary almost over they'll pack up 1-198 and the microwave relay and move it.

BTW, I'm also scanning MSWIN on my feed now. Past couple of days been a lot of activity on ID 5 with the motorola guys testing, and calibrating routers and other connection issues.

At least we have two of the SOW's logged now... I am also willing to bet the whole series is SOW1 197, SOW2 198 SOW3 199 And the MSOW 200,,... MSOW will also iether be MEMA or MHP controlled with the MCC/MEOC They probably also are set up to affiliate and id with All three Zones.

5 permanent sites logged and submitted just a little while ago too. ;)

Probably a couple more Unidentifieds in the neighbors lists too. I didn't look that close at that part. I've driven 170 plus miles today looking for towers and am kinda beat. hehe

Trying to upload pics of the Benndale and Wiggins South sights now.

EDIT: grr pics too big. will fool with them tomorrow

Lucedale is site 119 not 110. Seems that sites 198 and 144 is a bit different than what I captured too after looking at them closer. I'll submit those sites in a little while.

Also is there a reason the site location info I submitted was not recorded also? Considering the effort I put forth to collect the data I'd appreciate all of it being recorded.

Oh and coverage does rock. I started at Lucedale and worked my way west to Benndale and then Wiggins South. The signal from each site visit good all the way to finding the next site in line.

Ok visited the "Jackson County 2" and "Hwy 57" sites this morning. "Jackson County 2" is in reality 10803 Vancleave, MOT Tower ID 118.

As far as "Hwy 57" goes. Apparently the former FEMA site 105 has now become a permanent fixture on the Fountainbleau tower. I can only guess someone figured out this coverage was needed (or it was always the plan) and the powers that be have either acquired the FEMA gear or replaced it with new stuff. Anywho site 105 is now defunct and should be removed and replaced with site 144.

In a nutshell site 105 has now morphed into site 144.

I'll be submitting some up to date PRO96COM captures of sites 118, 144, and 198 shortly.

Well that kinda confuses things a bit when downloading. As does having multiple sites with identical names such as all the "Unidentifieds". Might I suggest changing the site names to "Unidentified 1, 2, 3.. or A, B, C.." or maybe "Site 105, 103..". Also all the stuff in parentheses gets downloaded too and makes quite a mess as well. I'd like to see the naming stick strictly to the FCC site name personally, when known of course.

Hope I'm not nitpicking. It's just that this thing is going to become a bear in the long haul if some type of uniformity isn't established now. Just trying to be proactive.

Also again. Lucedale is site 119 not 110. That'll get rid of one "Undidentified" there anyway :)

Oh and Vancleave is one word.

Listing of towers pulled from the ASR database with lat/lon coordinates, official site names and numbers, and other info. 38 sites total. Can't find info on tower 10910 Franklin. All other towers indicated on maps of the phase 1 area are pretty much exactly as illustrated.

Garmin and Google Earth files to follow soon.

Tower 10910 Franklin

That tower is actually on US 98 east of Bude. It is located on state property adjacent to a Miss. Public Broadcasting tower, if that will help you key in own it a little better. I've already reported the control channel and it's listed in the database.

Ok sounds like it is pretty much where the map says it's supposed to be then. Looks like it is just a little North of the Amite county line near or between MS Hwys. 567 0r 570?

Is the system not broadcasting alias??????

Also note, changes to the SW MS sites asap, due to realignment with FEMA sites integrating, and full wide area trunking. Also according to both the contractors maps there are 45 sites in Phase I... this includes the SOW's... so 4 SOW sites, and 41 towers. Some of which are existing towers being used by the MSWIN. Also note- FCC site names are so mixed up its not funny. Rarely can you depend on that. Where do you think the messed up name for Vancleave came from? LOL You can pretty much go by the actual data from the system, actual observations, and from actual site info from the contractors, etc.
