Lincoln SO is indeed on the MSWIN, simulcasting on VHF and the special ops UHF freq.. FD's are still VHF as far as I know, with EMA on both VHF and MSWIN. KDH EMS is still VHF. BPD is still VHF, with a few units still having the UHF radios also, though they most likely will join the SO on MSWIN. BFD is still on the over 20 years expired VHF freq. For the surrounding areas: Copiah SO - VHF and MSWIN, EMA - MSWIN, Fire - VHF with the exception of CSFD/VFD who are VHF and MSWIN. CSPD are also VHF and MSWIN. Jefferson SO, EMA/FD's are VHF. I have not heard if they plan on going to MSWIN. Franklin SO, VHF and MSWIN, FD's VHF. Pike SO, McComb PD, Rural PD's are all DMR. FD's are VHF, with a couple also using DMR, no MSWIN usage yet. Simpson SO, PD's with the one exception MSWIN, and the LTR TRS. Magee PD now uses its own DMR, with acess to the ComSouth DMR TRS. FD's are VHF and the LTR TRS.

Hope this helps.

TY for data. For those in H'burg, keep an ear on the system for the one site kicking to MSWIN SysID and P25 CC's....

Hopefully the guy providing the FC feed has MSWIN capabilities and can keep providing assuming they don't encrypt.

The FC feed provider doesn't have a digital scanner, and I don't know when that person will get one if ever.

That is sad to hear, as FC will be moving to MSWIN rapidly, and most likely using TDMA (Phase II) talkgroups. They should follow pretty closely to how Jones County transitioned. Crossing fingers that they don't encrypt too much traffic.

Thanks to some decent skip I've got all 3 Forrest County sites documented and submitted.

BUT........

Now that I've listened to it for a while, Petal PD is always, and ONLY, showing up on what all records indicate is the WEST Hattiesburg site, and that makes no sense whatsoever. Given the MAIN Hattiesburg site is between the WEST site and Petal.

So it appears they swapped the frequency loadouts and even the CWID broadcast between the two sites. Which actually makes a bit of sense since the WEST site license (WNSK507) has 8 voice channels in use, and the MAIN site license(WNXG625) only has 5 in use.

OR This is how it's always been and the old Type II system is/was wrong too? I never really studied the old system that much or often.

Ok, I'm 100% convinced those two sites are set up the opposite of what the licenses say, and probably even were on the old system.

MILF or ANY admin that hopefully reads this before going to the submissions queue, DO NOT process my subs for sites 147 and 148 from yesterday. I am about to resubmit them the way they should be now.

Included here too...

Hmmm, Just noticed Lucedale PD is no longer present on MSWIN. I usually log the Benndale site 24/7, but it is being fussy this morning, so I switched to Lucedale and just noticed absolutely ZERO affiliations for Lucedale PD.

While it's not constant, often times there is a Lucedale radio far enough to the west to affiliate to the Benndale tower, and looking at my logs from it the last seen date for Lucedale PD main channel was on 3/7/14.

Regarding Forrest County, I've managed to confuse myself even more now.

Is the West Hattiesburg site the "dominate" site for the area and the FGH site just a filler site which is restricted to more localized traffic? Traffic mostly from HPD, HFD, USM and FGH?

It seems the license info is correct if that's the case. Anyone more intimately familiar with the area PLEASE chime in.

As best I understand. Your synopsis is correct. Some if not most of the Law Dispatch use FGH Tower also. I have seen the sites switch while txmitting.
Will try to isolate the channels per tower this weekend. It's fun playing catch up. Ha!

Thanks Dan! After looking at the ASR info, and now with your feedback, I'm now certain the FGH location was created as a "filler" site for in building coverage within it's immediate proximity.

Looks like all 3 sites are properly added to the RRDB now too. Now to the business of TG identification. FYI to all interested, there is no TDMA usage as of yet, and all dispatch channels are in the clear. (so far) There is at least some encryption on some of the non-dispatch channels though.

Also none of the 3 sites is presently fully integrated into MSWIN. They are carrying only FC agency traffic and nothing else. Of course a big part of that is that all radios in the state will have to have those control channels added to them. I have seen some FC agency traffic on some of the pre-existing nearby MSWIN tower sites though.

The Jones County site is now fully integrated and carrying traffic from all users in range of it.

The sites are as they should be in the DB now. Don't mess with them!

Disregard post #1088, in fact please delete it altogether if you will. The info in it is inaccurate.

Actually, the address is the only error that I see. The original license for the first two towers was WNSK507.
The Forrest General tower was added to fill the gap in coverage in the NE part of Forrest County and provide in building coverage for FGH and USM handheld radios.

WNSK507 is for West Hattiesburg (2A7) (Site Location: Old Hwy 11); and Brooklyn ?(2A9)? (Yeaton) towers.
WNXG625 IS the Hattiesburg or FGH (2A8) (Site Location: US 49 S) tower site.

W H'burg has the most channels, followed by FGH site and then Brooklyn. Hope that eliminates the confusion.

31065 is Hattiesburg Fire Dispatch. Not AAA Ambulance Dispatch.

Any word from Panola County? Heard a rumor that Panola County Sheriff just went onto the MSWIN with Tait radios.

I'm not close enough to pickup Panola County and I hear nothing on the Broadcastify feed.

According to this Tait press release, Panola County has deployed around 420 TP9400 and TM9400 radios onto MSWIN. Not sure what county agencies are using them, but per the video it obviously includes at least one fire department.

Tait advertises these radios as being P25 Phase II "upgradeable". Not exactly sure if that upgrade is available now, or if they're talking about it being available in the future.

Actually, I've been hearing Panola County for several months now. I don't remember exactly when I first began to hear them, but it was at least as far back as the first part of this year, if not late last year.

Yeah there's no telling how many weeks/months after the fact the date on that press release is. Could be they started out with just a select handful of users too, and made a "big" order more recently. So frustrating that we have to scrape and dig around every corner of the web for any little scrap of information on this thing too. SOMEBODY at the WCC and/or ITS needs to be collecting and disseminating this kind of info on their otherwise pretty much USELESS website(s).

Regardless, what TGIDs that are known have been documented in the RRDB for a good while now...

As for the Tait's doing Phase II... All new users equipment MUST be ABLE to do Phase II, even if they do not actually use Phase II with it. Thats part of the requirements to use the system. Yes there are a LOT of radios still on the system that are not Phase II compliant, but these will slowly be weeded out, or updated to be able to be compliant.
