Well isn't that interesting ? The DCNR repeater (WQLM930) is still on the air, but never used. I'm wondering if this is in anticipation of future expansion to StarNet ?
It isn't really a new grant, it was a renewal of an existing license.

Just a note: Pymatuning State Park had the new radios in the Law Enforcement vehicles in Aug and they were only using the 151.445 repeater analog. They had to be using the new radios as there was nothing else in the vehicle that I could see. That being said the Starnet coverage there is horrible, but now I see a new Crawford Co site is coming as another poster mentioned.It isn't really a new grant, it was a renewal of an existing license.
As much as they complain about the new P25 radios, They either don't wanna or don't know how to use those conventional channels in their radios. They are kept as a backup, and as you noted rarely used.

There has been extensive radio testing from numerous points on Presque Isle State Park this morning. Using Global Command TAC channels over both Erie40 and Erie80. I assume this to be a precursor to DCNR switching over on the park. That should get some people up here all excited.
