Actually, aside from the fact that it has made some very good scanners almost obsolete in some cases, the rebanding has been fairly painless.

May I add my Welcome to those "not of Utah". This forum is an open area, and most are welcome.

AS for the obsoletness of non-rebanded scanners, that is so wrong. There are close to two dozen asst trunk systems and hundreds of interesting conventional freqs in the Salt Lake area alone that are receivable on these scanners. Yes Virginia, there is a lot more than UCAN.

Which I hope will become a focus of our group over the next year :)

I do apologize. Funny how I keep forgetting that. Maybe my interests in scanning doesn't run deep enough. Something I should work on.

At the moment (and during the past week) I'm listening to the LDS system, 3D38. Very heavy use of Private Call.
Deseret Industries activities are also on this system. I knew that the Church sent out some Humanitarian Aid at times, but I am surprised at the type, amount, and locations that they send to.

The last coouple of weeks I've been concentrating on Conventional Freqs. Mainly business's. I just looked at the Database listings yesterday and will compare and submit any additions next week. A lot to add.
Bye the bye, is there much interest out there for Drive-Thru (fast food) freqs??

I would put them under the County and then "Other Business"

Salt Lake County - Other Business is here
Lindsay doesn't want fast-food drive-through ferquencies in the DB. They have a very short range, and sometimes several restaurants use the same frequency within the same city.

Business Trunking

I'm referring more to other trunk systems that are around this area.
Oh yeah, there are a lot of business LTR systems in particular that we could add if we could figure them out. Gldavis and I were collecting some information here. There are probably more business systems of other sorts that we haven't added yet, either, but I've added a few over the past year. EnosJones has figured out many of the Questar systems. Look at the Trunking tab on the Utah state page for the list so far. I'm happy to add more.

Hey All, and thanks in advance for the help,

I've reprogrammed my PRO-93 this morning with Davis County frequencies each 15 lower than the old frequencies, and it's not working. When in trunking mode, the scanner seizes on the control channel 852.83750, flashes familiar talk group IDs for Layton Police and Davis County Sheriff's, for examples, but never jumps to other frequencies nor actually 'plays' anything I can hear.

I know that the PRO-93 is listed as one that is not reband-ready: http://www.radioshack.com/uc/index....Library/BuyersGuides/research/Scanners12.html

BUT-

My question is this: is there a way I can keep using the PRO-93 without trunking and still listen to UCAN? If so, how would I do that? Can i just remove the control channel(s) and then scan? How much talk-back-and-forth will I miss if I do this?

I know low-price reband-ready scanners are in the $200-250 range, which isn't terrible, but I may not be able to purchase one of those immediately. Thanks again!

I too found my Pro-97 failed to trunk track all of the voice channels properly once UCAN Weber and Davis were rebanded. To get by I simply locked out the control channel leaving just the list of voice channels in memory and then scan memory in the conventional manor.

PS: After spending $150 for a Pro-164 (on sale this week) I found it too was NOT reband ready. Same problem as my Pro-97.
Good Luck,
K7HCP
