Hey there,

New user of the PSR800, love the scanner so far- one issue I've had is that when I connect the scanner to my pc to import the audio I've recorded I have had it kick back a message "no recordings found", even though the memory card has hundreds or thousands of .au files in the rec folder. After getting this message if I try to access the recordings directly on the scanner itself it will then show zero recordings. The only way to get them is to pull them from the folders in the rec folder, but thats a pain and no talkgroup or other data is embedded so its not worth much.

Anyone else experience this? I emailed support and they said that it's a result of a corrupted ARINDEX file, and there is no fix now. They are working on a file repair option in an upcoming release.

I was just curious if anyone else has had this issue and might have tips to avoid it from occuring often.

Thanks!

It's absolutely critical to ensure that you power the radio down before switching to/from external power or removing the batteries, etc. Also, if/when connecting to a PC to program and/or for any other reason, (a) make sure the radio is powered off first and (b) use "safely remove...." windows feature and make sure windows advises it is safe to unplug the cable (or remove the SD card if using an external card reader) -

These are the most common reasons I've found that corruption of files on the SD card occur.
