v1.0.7 BETA:
Changes in this version fix the recording ability to work on all computer regardless of having a microphone. This also removes the options for selecting BitRate and SampleRate in the settings form (due to the new recording method and not being able to set these).

I don't plan on adding anymore features after this BETA build, so I will make the public beta key expire April 7th. Please make sure that you tell me any bugs that you find or anything that you don't think should be on the public release that isn't listed as "will-fix" below. I will be releasing v1.0.8 as a Pre-Release somewhere between March 20th - March 22nd and if all goes well, I can start talking about the final release details. These dates may change.

Will-Fix List:
- Change: The feeds list will be smaller or the main Scanner Force window will be bigger to accommodate a Powered by RadioReference section (as in the player).
- The links on the main Scanner Force window called Make a shortcut, Add to Playlist, and Details will be removed and possibly implemented in future versions.

V1.0.7 Beta does now record on a laptop without a mic.
As you list, the options for selecting BitRate and SampleRate have been removed. I see it records at 32kbs.
It seems it auto selects Bitrate (not too much) as I saw it had 32 for one feed and 64 for another. I will add something to my "Will-Fix List" - It will have feed name with date and time for the song title (EG: Los Angeles Police Department 03-11-2010 1804 hrs) and artist / album will be filled too!
After you posed this, I did other recordings.
A stereo feed recorded at 64kbs
A mono feed recorded at 36kbs
Another mono feed recorded at 48kbs.
This brings up a poss question:
Will the recordings be all at the same bit rate or will mono feeds be recorded at one bit rate & stereo feeds recorded at a higher bit rate?
Ok. I have figured out that the original recording method I was using was working, but I didn't need to add something that I did. I have reverted to old one and found a useful feature. The recording can auto-detect the correct Bitrate and Samplerate based on the feed. My question for you would be do you want an ability to override this, or use what it suggests?

I will make the public beta key expire April 7th. This RC is earlier than I published, but does not affect the public beta key expiration date. Please make sure that you tell me any bugs that you find or anything that you don't think should be on the public release. I will be releasing v1.0.9 as the the public release. From there, beta testers will have to sign up to further test beta software. Keys will be issued on per computer basis, which means that if you buy a license, I will allow you to install Scanner Force on 3 computers. Each computer will need a separate key that will be issued in a control panel (or by email if control panel is unavailable). Trial/Demo keys are issued from the control panel (once available) and will expire after 3 days. The control panel will not reissue trial/demo keys and if you need another one, members will have to contact me on a per-case basis. Current pricing is expected to be $10 for people that reported at least one bug in this thread or gave a response on the software, $15 for Radio Reference members, and $20 for others. Preorders are accepted by contacting me by PM. Please try this RC before making any Preorders!

What is the possibilty of feed volume regulation? Many feeds in my area have huge volume differences. I'm thinking of something like AGC, but more or less for volume instead of signal gain.
Possibly something like "nighttime" features on audio recievers.
With 2 or 3 feeds it's not an issue, but with 7+ feeds, it becomes a tedious process to adjust volumes to match each other.
Possibly something that samples audio and adjusts volume based off of an average of samples it takes when voice is active on the feed.
I know this may be a large feat, but if you, someone with programming experience knows of a somewhat simple way to do this, it would be great. Very nice programming though. Looks and feels great.

I'll have to look into this, but this sounds like it would go beyond what I can program. I know they give me a lot to work with in this audio library, but I have so much to explorer with it. That would be an interesting feature however!
I'll see what I can do about making window sizes smaller, I might add a mini player type of deal so that it opens small (maybe in the future tie it per feed).

just a quick question, I love the option to put the windows in the System Tray when minimized but the Main window always stay in the Taskbar, is there a possibility that the main window could also be minimized in the System Tray?

This is a Lenovo S10, the resolution is 1024x576 on a 10.1" screen. That seems about par for most netbooks. I have seen some a little more one way or the other and some less.

Just an update for all of you... I keep finding new features to add and I'm waiting to buy the license to redistribute this Media Library, so right now I plan on releasing an RC2 (Release Candidate 2). I have been working on two amazing features (correlated with each other).
1. A status light indicator to indicate if there is chatter on the channel. This feature is the same as the Radio Shack Pro-106. Right now it is blue, but I will make it customizable. I'm having a hard time finding a good place to put it, but I'm messing around with it. It currently has a delay of 3 seconds, but I plan to make this adjustable later.
2. My most favorite option besides the recording option is the ability to have the feed auto mute when there is no chatter and un-mute when there is. Many feeds have an annoying hum and with this auto mute feature, you only hear the hum if someone is talking. Makes a cleaner feed!
