Hello again to a bright new day, things seem to be working now thank you all!! Now down to more details to fine tune.
Is there a way to "fine tune" I can hear occasional white noise popping in and out, but no vocals... Am tuned to county sheriffs dpt.

I may as well ask about antennas... I am running Dipole up against a east facing wall floor vertically.. not sure if it is correctly polorized up/ down?? all new lingo for me.. ? Can someone advise a site or thread to go read up on...... Like mentioned earlier read more click less thank you
....
Oh BTW once I opened DSD the audio worked... am relearning this from a different road ...

Just for information here Ive been tuned to this channel for over an hour just hearing popping in out no vocals just static sound
and not sure why im not getting a clear signal??

Thank you all

What would help is show us what is in your
1) FMP24 start up batch file
2) DSD+ start up batch file

3) a screen shot which shows all of the open windows of both when running

4) A link to the specific site you are monitoring - RR database

That's the channel for their mobile data terminals! There's no voice traffic there!

You need to figure out what it is that you're supposed to monitor. It sure ain't their MDTs.

After reading more I think im getting this sort of figured out.
First I open FMP24 CC windows batch file
then from same folder I open DSD plus application
Then in FMP 24 freq I enter the Freq I want to listen to.
At this point I think I should be hearing any broadcasts???

After following this order TCP was denied connection....
I have made the connection but no clue what i did to make it happen, but now it is not connecting again?..

For info I have 2 DSD folders
1 DSD plus
2 DSD fast lane... DSD fast lane is DSD plus with the added fast lane files... Yes I have a folder for updates also

here is screenshot of everything

PS I have virtual cable installed and was configured for my unitrunker software and in play back settings

Had no clue I did.... How can that happen? I did not physically do it? how and where do i fix that?
To me this is code,,, Of which I still need to learn to crack... I dont change anything I dont understand... hench the 20001 to 1 I know it is some sort of port/connection, but seeing I have not yet learned I do not change...

How are you starting FMP24? You should be doing it by running the FMP24-CC.bat file, whose contents should look something like:

FMP24 -rc -i1 -o20001 -P0.0 -f935.0

That has FMP24 sending its output to TCP port 20001, but your screen grabs show FMP24's output going to WaveOut device #1.

To open FMP 24CC batt file,I double click on it I went back and looked at my screen shots... I see differences but I do know what they mean?
I just tried to look and see what the file looks like... I cannot open it to see....Screenshot (6).png

You didn't answer the question. In the screen grabs in posts #46 and #47, how did you start FMP24?

Why does FMP24 see three dongles? How many do you have plugged in?

You can view/edit FMP24-CC.bat by right clicking on it.

I have 3 dongles plugged in..... I found some you tubes vids I am attempting to use... There are 2 versions one that uses 1 RTL and the other uses 2 RTL... What I am seeing is that I am not opening files correctly??? Guess Ill keep re watching till I figure it out...
I did notice that he did not Get some of the files for dsd that I did ?? will have to figure out those details again ??

A specific order of what to open and how and what to do with each file would be a great help!!
Thanks Dave

Like has been explained x times already.

Open the FMP24-CC.bat with text editor.
Change the frequency to the one you want.
Don't change anything else!

Then you just run the FMP24-CC.bat file.
Then you just run the 1R.bat file.

DONE - Very Simple - No?

To edit the bat file right click on it choose edit - make change - save.
To run bat files just double click them.

Good evening... I want to say Im sorry if I offended anyone... was not my intent .... in any way. I have never dealt with file manipulation..
At this level Im a monkey see monkey do.. Now that I did exactly as directed it worked right off... I am very thank full for all the patience!!
I went thru similar experience with a aircraft flight simulator... weeks of tweaking this and that .... ended up redoing OS...
I now know how to make it work..
Special thanks but not limited to DRL-XM43 No punked intended in any such way... I am a student.. You are a teacher...Thank you.
I am a slow learner but still have the ability to learn..

Ok so in an attempt to learn a bit more I went to youtube... I am currently using just 1 RTL..... AS I understand it I may be missing some transmissions... I do have 2 more RTL avail to use. What is involved in adding another RTL to fill in the gaps???

Yes I have taken notes.. Thank you all..

You don't need two dongles to monitor a trunking system. The single dongle will always tune to active calls.

You can use extra dongles to monitor something else (another system, another site on the same system, the weather channel, ...)

I don't think anyone is offended, we are all pleased to help if we can. The best help is provided when requested info is posted so we can see what's what. That way you get operational much quicker. Without the requested info it becomes stabs in the dark for the helper and makes for very long threads going nowhere :)

Beware of u-tubes they were probably correct when they were made the problem is 99% of them are obsolete because of big strides made by the sw developers of SDR applications so they are now not helpful and probably misleading.

Anyway glad you are operational, I used to use 2 dongles back when 2 were required to trunk follow with FMPx, but now 1 does the job very nicely, using a different technique - you are not missing much or anything by using 1.

Better to explore the many features of the s/w instead - they are many and they are powerful.
