Gawd - years-old videos and blog posts that will never die - forever giving outdated advice. Hm, that includes here. Oh well!
Two dongles - good to have in case one breaks (internally, USB connector, ...); also good for mapping out new non-P25 trunking systems - monitor the CC with one dongle and use the other to find the voice channels. Also good to have a variety, like the standard rtl-sdr.com or Nooelec dongles, plus an orange FlightAware Pro Stick (awesome sensitivity)
Just don't try to order the Pro Sticks in the GTA - the Amazon warehouse in Mississauga will send you the blue ADS-B -only Pro Stick Plus dongles and they're crap for VHF/UHF/700/800/900 use.
