The Simulcast Harris System here in Evansville was missing traffic. It helps a great deal to IGNORE site NAC and reception is much improved even if the correct NAC is programmed.

Odd i tried on same system no dif, plus not sure on this but i thought i just test by entering the wrong nac code however it still decodes just fine?
I guess people will say cant receive system if nac is wrong but appears I am it shows wrong nac on left and correct received nac on right.
I set several wrong nac still hears fine.
I am on latest BEta firmware for our harris system best version yet very very happy.
Jon FYI your PM is full no one can PM you right now.

If NAC is set to ignore it will do what you are describing. If you set it to pay attention to the NAC you'll lose reception when the NAC doesn't match.

Upman any explanation why the analog reception is causing the stuttering at the end of the transmission that most everyone is getting now and reporting. Curious as what may have caused this

Can you try reverting to either the current production firmware, or the previous beta and lock onto the same frequency/system and post that screenshot? Just for the sake of comparison.

Thanks,
Greg

I went to fw v1_02_05b and the NAC Site Option disappeared in the settings.

OK, so am I the only one that sees CAP+ on the top of the display? Why would he be seeing any NAC, if this is a DMR system???

**** I did a little poking around, and it appears that you're sitting on a frequency in the Mobile Communications of North Florida (DMR) system (https://www.radioreference.com/apps/db/?sid=8454), which brings me back to my question, why are you seeing a NAC, and not a Color Code (CC)?

The freq in the pic is a unknown Cap+ system (its a hotel or resort on beach side) in my area no FCC info at all. Seems there is a bug in the new FW since they added the NAC Site Operation. If you use the Ignore and are on a p25 system scanning and you decide go to custom search and it will show nac xxx ffffff even if analog or a digital signal. If you put use nac it will work fine it won't show the error.

Unable to receive/track EDACS system

I've tested with 1.03.05 Main / 1.01.05 Sub. Still not tracking. The delay time for the system is 0. I've avoided TGID's 363, 1163, and 2004. Log files attached. 1521 was before setting the avoids. 1546 was after setting the avoids on the patched channels.

Thanks.

Quote from previous thread:
The scanner has received grant and update message of TG 559 many times.
Also patch IDs.

However, for some reason seems to be unable to move to voice channels.

Please set delay time to 0 or avoid patch IDs, and try again after updating to new public beta firmware (I will post in a few minutes to a new thread).

Parma P25 Simulcast Phase I, Cuyahoga County, OHIO. A Harris System.
Previous post with Firmware 1.03.03M/1.01.05S Open Beta dated 7/9/2018
#122 (permalink) https://forums.radioreference.com/u...-03-03m-1-01-05s-open-beta-7.html#post2963904

No improvement. Misses a large majority of the traffic.
RSSI: -45db to -55db
Noise: Majority low triple digit (100-500), small percentage four & five digit.

Looking at the HPE, only the Parma department and Parma Simulcast site have location data. So, if you have location enabled, and you've correctly set the location within the bounds of those settings, those are the only things that are going to be scanned. The other departments' locations are set to 0, 0, which is in the Gulf of Guinea (south of Ghana and west of Gabon). That could account for a large majority of the traffic being missed.

Also, you've set a NAC for the system. Try with NAC set to ignore (MENU --> Settings --> Site NAC Operation --> Ignore Site NAC)

Issue- Scanner fails to monitor a 800mhz Motorola Type 2 and 700mhz P25 system simultaneously. The Motorola system will not lock onto a control channel until Site Hold is pressed even though no other sites are active on the system. Once the P25 system is turned on the scanner will not lock on to a control channel for either system. Both systems are well within range. Once the Motorola system is deactivated the P25 system scans normally. This has been an issue in previous firmwares, I just haven't had a chance to upload and submit error logs or videos. The error log was recorded during the video.
Link to video:
https://youtu.be/-5bM4NIL9Bo
Error logs are the attachments at the bottom.

Systems monitored:
https://www.radioreference.com/apps/db/?sid=6452
https://www.radioreference.com/apps/db/?sid=6739

It would help to have the hpe file. According to the database, there are 4 alternate control channels on the Motorola system:

860.9375 MHz
859.9375 MHz
858.9375 MHz
857.9375 MHz

According to the logs, 857.9375 is never scanned and the other 3 have no signal present. So, it appears that either 857.9375 is missed from the programming or is avoided, or something else we can't see.

I agree, it appears to be a bug. How far are you from Marianna, FL?

According to the logs, the scanner receives the control channel, and has decoded ID 291.
As I wrote before, for some reason the scanner seems to be unable to move to the voice channels.

There are 5 LCNs (1, 2, 4, 5, 6) in the logs.
Please try using:
  • ID Search mode
  • Location Control disabled
Please check the above.
