It only "hangs" when searching. If scanning (assumed programmed correctly) it will not hang. I think driving around with search is not a usual thing for the reasons you mentioned.

I often drive around in search mode looking for new stuff and listening to it as I drive, I also do a lot of discrete, scanner in backpack monitoring at events in search mode, where frequencies are often temporary and unknown before hand, I've had to switch to Whistler for this because of the digital hang.

Despite their search lacking in many other areas at least its usable in these 2 scenarios, if it could be added as an option it makes your product more flexible and more attractive to a wider market.

If you stop on a digital system that beacons continuously and has no data or voice being transmitted, its no use to man or beast to indefinitely hang on it.

Awesome, thanks for posting this. The screen does have some glare though. And maybe zoom in a little more? Your cell phone vibrate is really loud in the video. Would be nice to see a side-by-side with Unitrunker or DSD+ so we can know exactly when it should stop on a TG.

Sorry for the glare as we're in a coffee shoppe on the corner of High & Rich if anyone in the area would like to join?

Is it just me, or are we lacking mobile and comparison videos ? I can set my PSR-800 on the table and get great decode on LSM, DMR, etc. It’s when mobile that all goes to hell. I’d like to see more real world testing. These videos just raise red flags for me.

Improved simulcast reception would be well worth $100 to me.

Bulletproof simulcast reception, Phase II audio quality worth more than 100 to me...they could put an analog clock face on the front and strip out the other superfluous stuff and I'd still pull the trigger if real world performance turns out as advertised. WE NEED A SIMULCAST BREAKTHROUGH.

And that exactly highlighted the DMR hang problem, you avoided 2 channels that you will now not listen to when active because you had to avoid them to continue, something difficult to do when driving and impossible if the radio is in a backpack.

Really wasn't anything here in conventional mode. Even tried the Railroads to no avail, but if you have them in your town believe me the sound just as good as the X36 series dependent on your antennae.

I did not get to see it, but if they were trunked channels programmed as conventional, that is the problem, not that the scanner stopped on them. Programmed correctly, trunked data channels will not hang.

He was custom searching, it hung on 2 beaconing DMR channels around the 451-452 MHz area which he had to avoid for it to continue, its crazy it should have an option to timeout and move on.
