The more I think about, the less concerned I am with the lost of WiFi. In my case, I used WiFi and Siren to make up for what for my installation was a poor display. If the SDS200 display is as bright as it seems to be, I'll be able to use it without Siren.

I'd still like for there to have been a remote head option, but I guess we're out of luck on that.

That was the one weak spot in the design, at least I thought so. The other glitches were just that, this just seems like poor design, especially for a scanner designed for mobile use.

What would be neat would be video and audio output to aftermarket car stereos. I have a JVC with two video inputs. One is for the back up camera, but the other isn't connected. ;)

I for one will be glad to get rid of the crappy 536hp display

I hate the white screen and big white buttons but it isn't a bad scanner depends on what you like. But I've always had Bearcats from before Uniden bought Electra. Some are better than others, some have issues. Heck even with the white screen I got two 536's.

My apologies if this question's been asked before, but is the 200's GPS a NMEA format?
Good question, never seen any mention anywhere. Since, so far , there is seemingly just the one GPS module, plus never seen specs...

For us none Win/Mac users, since this has dedicated LAN I sure hope it has the ability to update the DB/FW directly without the use of a computer.

I'm pretty sure at one point in Jason's video the other day he showed how he was FTP'ing to the scanner and loaded a new firmware image to it's firmware folder. Then I know he did a remote reboot command.

That would be fine! If the FW is available for download anywhere. My 536s only get updated when Paul posts the individual FW files here for Beta, that at least allows me to copy the file to the SD card manually since it's not available on Uniden's website, which is a shame.

Keep this on-topic. This isn't about encryption, drain cleaners, how many other Uniden scanners you have , etc...
A link was posted about the SDS 200 turned our it wasn't the scanner. As far as the 536, I was trying to say the display on the SDS 200 will be a big improvement. If we can't discuss the SDS 200 then close the thread
