I'm curious if they have implemented ignition control for mobile installations yet? Or if they have at least done away with the need to turn the unit off to save anything to the SD Card? That becomes super annoying when you want do a permanent lockout and have to manually cycle the power before turning off the vehicle.

For me ports front and back would be ideal, depending on my application in the house or in the car, but I guess it's to late for that to happen. Or is it?

Jason Houk how do you like what you have seen so far?

It makes sense for a mobile scanner. If this is mounted in a car dash, rear ports would be a PITA to get to when you needed access to them.
True. I think we probably have a bias depending on how we use and mount our scanners. All my "mobile/base" units sit on a desk inside my house, especially since mobile use is prohibited in New York state.

Wifi can be achieved with a Wifi->Ethernet bridge.

Is there an ethernet port on the front AND back of the unit? It would be quite cumbersome to have a bridge sticking out of the front of the scanner.

Hey UPMan - a couple of the retailers that have posted the radio say that NXDN upgrades are "ONLY for 436/536/SDS100" (but mention that DMR is available for 436, 536, 100, and 200). Is there anything to this or will there be the same 3 updates (DMR/NXDN/PV) for the 200 as well?

What I want to know is...will this unit end up having the same issue with the time and date that the 436/536 does and that my HP2 developed where you end up having to reset it every single time you turn it on?

NXDN Upgrade is working well on Beta and Pilot Production SDS200 models.

Very Impressive. I will be buying this one when available for purchase. 75mm x 300mm would be 11.8 inches x 2.9 inches. Is this scanner nearly 12 inches wide?

This wasn’t an issue for this SDS100 so I wouldn’t think it would be for the sds200 , and as far as the HP2 is concerned that was two generations of technology ago, really?

Yes, really. Not everyone has the desire or the means to run out and buy the latest and greatest the instant it becomes available. I had the 436 for 2 years before it developed the problem, which is ridiculous. I was merely asking if it's going to develop the same issue, which is a legitimate concern considering I have two Uniden scanners that have to be reset every time I turn the dang things on.

And before you say it, I'll beat you to the punch...I just won't buy anymore Uniden products. HAHAHAHAHA.

I’m sure Uniden will gnashing their teeth in anxiety knowing they can’t depend on your $ to keep them in business. And I’m pretty sure Uniden doesn’t have a portal into the future to see what will or will not happen 2 or 3 years down the road.

Hey guys,

Asking if a glitch from a 5 year old radio will be present in the new one is like asking if Ford cars still explode today since they made the Pinto half a century ago. Or asking if Samsung phones still catch fire in your pocket since the one model had battery problems. In other words it's stupid, asinine, and ridiculous, and we all know you're only doing it to stir up ****. So go away and let this thread be for discussing the new radio - post your hate in one of the other 76 million threads you've made about your complaints over the years.

Are you asking if there might be an unforeseen defect that could present itself in the future? No one knows the answer to that question.

Just as with anything you buy that is electronic, unforeseen hardware issues can happen without notice.

Well said, some just expect the unreasonable.
