What's the RJ11 jack for?

It's marked lightly as GPS next to the jack.
It is a big shame they did not at least duplicate the front ethernet port on the rear. I hate cables sticking out from the front of radios. They are just too easy to bump and ruin or even snap off.

Maybe some type of Serial port signaling for the RJ11 jack?

I am betting there will be a remote head sold separately. The USB A on the front could be for a wi-fi dongle... sold separately this time.

That would be nice if they brought a RH back!
I also wonder like you if one of the front ports will allow for some type of WiFi adapter. I know many expressed wanting a hard wired LAN connector verse WiFi for the 536HP. The ethernet jack could probably support that so you can break the signal out and get it on to any kind of network you want and not be limited to the WiFi dongle they supplied with the 536HP.
I just hope the SDS200 firmware allows for both Static and DHCP IP assignments if this is what the ethernet port is for.

It will be interesting to see what other info becomes available as this radio gets closer to being available for purchase.

I also hope they offer some form of control over the tuner gain so I can use this radio to monitor my statewide system which does not work with the SDS100 due to pager signal overload or desense.

The images of the SDS200 look cool! It's what I was hoping for in appearance.

Will this receiver be available for the UK and also will it have full frequency coverage i.e. no gaps. (are the gaps in the frequencies because of the US market -- UK/European receivers aren't usually blocked at certain frequencies). I realise Uniden make products specific to the United States but how would this receiver work in the UK -- there are a lot of features on this device not used in the UK, such as Fire Out and Weather.

I’m disappointed I can’t use my existing GPS.
Three things stand out for me. 1, the screen looks to be the same as the 536 so it’s going to be small to read like the SDS100. 2, if you already have the serial connector GPS wire in your vehicle your going to need to upgrade. 3, the function knob is still on the left side blocking the display for Mobile applications.

I bet there will be ways to use most GPS units already used today. Some type of adapter may be needed though.
This is pure speculation though so we won't really know until users start getting their hands on one!

I would have preferred a detachable faceplate/remote head, but a separate purchase remote head (should that be offered) isn't a bad alternative.

I'm with you there. I don't have anywhere to put a 996 in my truck, let alone that monstrosity. Hopefully a remote head is in the works. I'm excited for it none the less! Thanks for your hard work Uniden & UPMAN!

Wondering what the dimensions are? The front looks taller than the standard base/mobile from the past?

As listed in post #1:

"1.5X Din-E (300 mm x 75 mm) chassis"

Looks nice, but not sure if I could read display better in mobile application. Too bad on WiFi that was a great feature. I just picked up a 2nd 536 for $200 so I’ll sit tight.
