Not sure sounds like something going on in the background. If you have the OS disk and driver disk I would unlicensee PROSCAN on that PC and wipe the harddrive reload the OS and Drivers reinstall PROSCAN and start over.
Why can't you just port forward your router so that the VLC program (at a remote location) can playback the audio??
No VPN needed.
Due to the format of the audio used in the scanner, only one location can listen to the scanner at a time. (no server used)
Let me know if you need any detailed help with this.

I cleared the file folder setting and it started working. Not sure sounds like something going on in the background. If you have the OS disk and driver disk I would unlicensee PROSCAN on that PC and wipe the harddrive reload the OS and Drivers reinstall PROSCAN and start over.
Not built in but you can set up a web server in the free radiofeed software. You also can do it in ProScan also.Does the SDS200 have a built in web server to access directly from a web browser?
Here is a look at the webserver. This is not a sds 200 it is just to give you an idea of what it looks like. I don't think radiofeed supports it yet but Proscan does.Thank you for your response.
Thanks and interesting. I already use OpenVPN for work at the home office, so this will be a good fit and should free up half of a Proscan license...I will be trying when I can.Success. I have been successful in controlling the SDS200 via a routed connection (over the Internet) using Proscan on a remote PC, without having a computer co-located with the scanner. I had been able to view and control the scanner, but the audio was not making it through.
We have the following configuration:
SDS200 Ethernet <> Remote Mikrotik Router <> Internet <> Home Mikrotik Router <> PC running Proscan Server
The remote router is running OpenVPN-Client in bridged mode, and Home is running the OVPN Server. I am running 192.168.0/24 on the home LAN, and this configuration simply extends Layer 2 to the remote router's LAN. Scanner IP is 192.168.0.69...
When the remote router is powered up, it immediately establishes a permanent encrypted connection with the home router.
The key is to run your VPN connection in bridged mode (not routed) to place the scanner in the same broadcast domain. I am still not clear why the Uniden audio protocol did not like a routed connection, but this should work for now.
I need more time to determine how it handles latency, jitter and packet loss. However, since all the scanning work is being done by the SDS, and not by Proscan, this may not matter. I previously used Scanstar/Spectrum Manager (by Signal Intelligence) to remotely control receivers, but the application was designed to drive a "dumb" receiver, where each scanned channel was written to the receiver, one by one. Latency killed scan speed, so I was always forced to co-locate a laptop at a remote site, which is always a bad idea.

Yeah I agree the price on Proscan is affordable. The thing is that I really just need one more computer to run it than I have now so I would prefer to avoid paying $50 more just for one more PC. It would be nice if there was a one PC license extension available but not a big deal, still quite happy with the software. I suspected that what you have done could be done, but like you in the past hadn't gotten audio to pass...thanks again for sharing.I guess this would. But Proscan is already extremely low-priced for what we are getting. It was just updated again to V14.6...
