OK, I'll just write favorite list then
If you did the 'clear user data' and then the 'write to scanner', your Favorites lists as well as the full database will be written to the scanner. No need to do a "force" write, but that does not hurt anything.

Have a spare card. You can get a 32GB high endurance type from Amazon for $10.

The high endurance cards are recommended over the "standard" SD cards because they tolerate more read/write cycles. There can be many "behind the scenes" read/write operations going on than you realize, just as a matter of normal operation.

SD cards are like car tires - they wear out eventually and some will have premature "blow outs".
