Let me jump in here with another question. Is the reference to Belmont County fire? I assume the police/sheriff remains encrypted.

Thanks.

Wheeling Fire 2110

Let me apologize if this has already been posted but Wheeling Fire was heard this afternoon on SIRN. I don't know how much migration has happened but TG 2110 was clearly one of the sub-groups (TAC ?) and it involved the duty chief calling Station 2.

2110 is wheeling fd dispatch. The TAC-Ch are also in the database. And yes Belmont county fire not PD. Also Wheeling PD is on SIRN

Thanks for the update. Before reading your post I just heard a call on 2110 which was clearly dispatch, I thought the earlier instance might be a TAC channel since it was a purely administrative conversation that wouldn't seem likely on the dispatch channel.

Ever since the city of wheeling came on sirn I am having terrible reception with ohio county and hardly if ever hear the city. I am in Warwood with an indoor antenna. Any suggestions? I was thinking maybe an outdoor antenna in my attic, but don't know what to go with. I live in Warwood just off rt.2.

How is it that SP units in Brooke County and parts of Hancock County are on SIRN without the Brooke County tower being activated? I don't hear any SP traffic on their low band system.

My guess is that the west Liberty tower for Ohio county is strong enough to handle them. Also Brooke uses sirn sometimes with ema and ems

As for wheeling you might just need to put the scanner near a window towards the river and try that

As I posted before, to make it even stranger, those SP cars don't even have UHF antennas on them.
Thanks for the response but I'm not sure if that is what is happening. Is anyone else hearing traffic on low band?

I work in follansbee and live in st.c. I drive rt-2 everyday and never hear anything on lowband just sirn. They sometimes show up on county frequencies like Brooke and Hancock counties.

Even more strange is the fact that SP units in northern Hancock aren't using low band to contact Moundsville. So what are they using???They can't be hitting towers inOhio County with all the hilly terrain.
Something is going on for sure

Is the Hancock County (Beaver PA) on line??? Heard SP unit go 10-7 at New Cumberland barracks .
No way they're hitting Ohio County towers.

If it was it would be listed in the DB. But, it would only be listed in teh DB if somebody scanned for it and found it. I've got an idea? Why don't you scan 400-410 mhz, 450-454 mhz and 460-465 mhz and see if you can find a P25 control channel for a new site claiming to be Site 3-00x on system 170 wacn BEE00.

If you find a new site, please report the relevant information to us so that we can use it for ourselves and also make sure it is added to the DB.

You guys are forgetting about their 453.400/458.400 UHF link that has existed forevver up in the northern panhandle. MIght want to give those frequencies a listen.

Mike
