It has significantly improved things at my location about 7-8 air miles in Ohio west of the Pike Island Dam. I get the northern Marshall County site very good and hardly ever heard the Ohio County sites. Marshall County's site is still best but Ohio County is coming in with some regularity.

More confusion on TGID 9999.

Just a few minutes ago (10:25) Limestone 9391 was calling Wheeling Medical Park on TG 9999.
He made several calls between 10:25 and 10:30 and never got a response. I know this was discussed before but wonder if some of the mobile radios have 9999 programed to display as Medical Park?

Wheeling medical park is wheeling hospital. Dont know why they just don't call it wheeling hospital.
Has anyone heard if and when the weirton and beaver valley towers will come online?
I dont hear anything from ohio county anymore here on weirton heights but i get jefferson and harrison county now from ohio.
And i do hear transmissions from 3 digit units on hancock and brooke County channels i would imagine they are state police. Also they patched in pa state police to hancock county when they had route 30 in Beaver county closed a week ago.
Lastly anyone else notice they are having alot of trouble with radios in Hancock, brooke and weirton lately?

I tell ya Wheeling/Staleys should have done a little more testing before they went live ... Dispatch cant hear the tac channels that the companies are calling them on and the squad #2 just tried to call the hospital on sirn tg 9999 instead of 9997 (the correct one) .... S-2 finally gave up and changed back to the 800 and called the hospital from it (which worked) but man.... get the bugs out b4 u have peoples lives on the line i noted that 9999 is not listed in the db but they were definitely using it.....

This could be why they are waiting to switch over hancock, brooke and weirton. They want to have all of the bugs worked out first.

That license has been around for years. Not only are the frequencies on that license licensed to SIRN on that site, but there is at least one other license out there for SIRN or Ohio Co that licenses all of the OC simulcast frequencies on the Weirton tower.

You guys will know when a new site comes online in Weirton because one of the guys running Unitrunker / Pro96Com / DSDPLus will see the new site neighbor show up on the Ohio Co site.

Or, you'd know if you scan from 400-470 mhz once a day and note any new System 170 P25 control channels that aren't already documented.

Unfortunately, I haven't heard / read anything further about the Weirton or Beaver Valley sites (although I believe Beaver Valley, when online, will have frequencies on the 406 mhz range).

The June SIRN new letter didn't have anything useful regarding Weirton. The July newsletter stated "Permission granted for a camera and subscriber module to be placed on the Weirton tower with the agreement that no interference will be caused to any equipment already located at that site in cooperation with Ohio/Brooke Counties in WV". I don't know what that's all about, but likely not directly related to the RF site function itself. As of right now there aren't any newer SIRN newsletters online than the July newsletter.

Wares Ridge / Valley Head (Randolph) site -- progress?

Anybody down around Randolph county want to run Unitrunker on a neighboring site and see if any news neighbors show up? The July SIRN newsletter did not state that it was online, but that they were "working with Premier". It's now a couple months later. You never know, it could be online.

That's Wares Ridge / Valley Head / Snowshoe / whatever you want to call it in Randolph Co.

The licensed frequencies for Wares Ridge are:

453.2500
453.2875
453.6375
453.7875
453.8375
460.2125

Neighboring sites would be Circleville, Buckhannon, Elkins, Kanawha Head, Diana, Webster Springs and maybe even Craigsville, Quinwood and White Sulfur Springs.

So if you are in the Valley Head / Wares Ridge area, please check for an active P25 control channel on one of the frequencies above. And if you have Unitrunker / Pro96Com / DSDPlus / SDRTrunk and can check the neighbor list being transmitted on neighboring sites, please do so and check for the existence of any new site neighbor (site that isn't already listed in the DB) and report details if you find something.

Thanks!

Mike,
Why do ask that question. I have been hearing them all the time.

The questiion really is this:

Is there ANY police/fire/ems traffic left on the old City of Wheeling system? How's that?

It is in the best interest of Ohio Co listeners to just answer my question so I can adjust the DB accordingly -- make the SIRN system be listed on the OHio Co page as the primary page for all police / fire / ems so people aren't wrongfully steered to the old system [if it has no police/fire/ems on it].

I don't want to know if people hear a peep out of Wheeling Police/Fire/EMS on SIRN. I want to know if they have completed switched over and are not using hte old analog system anymore.

Thanks, Josh. I just want to make sure they are all off of the old system before I remove the old system as a preferred system on the main page and edit things to note that all P/F/EMS in the county is on SIRN.
