I just got a SR30C and I can't get my laptop windows 7 to recognize the scanner.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

What are you using as a computer and what operating system are you running?

Never seen the sr30c, but unit similar I have seen the 325p2. Same situation if it doesnt recognize as you say, you need to turn the scanner on and not have it on the charge on/off screen if the sr30 has that screen, whereas the 325p2 does. Once powered up the pc recognizes it.

Then in Freescan you'll need to do this each time, with the cable connected,
go to "Scanner", "Upload programming", then the box comes up click then click the box in between "Auto" and "start upload", click "start auto" at that point should find your radio.

I believe the SR30C is the replacement for the BC75XLT. Same case as the BCD325P2, but totally different scanner.

Development of Freescan ended a couple years ago, long before the SR30C came out, and the program doesn't support the BC75XLT or BC125AT either.

Looks like Uniden has programming software on their website; you might want to try that first:

Another option *might* be Nick Bailey's Scan75 which might work depending on how similar the SR30C is to the BC75XLT:

A third would be Butel's ARC75, which actually states that it supports the SR30C, with this notation at the top of the ARC75 page:
'breaking news: Uniden SR30C support now available!'

In any event, you won't be able to use Freescan to program the SR30C.

When I have the SR30C plugged in to the usb on the pc it says charging.
With the scanner on its scanning frequencies i put in manually.
I know on a cell when charging ya have to change it to transfer to add files to a pc.
