Sitting here tuned to 853.975 and watching Pro96Com. There is a lot of enc P2 traffic on that frequency. That might explain some of the noise you are hearing

The RR database shows SC21 using NAC141. Are you able to determine what NAC the 853.975 repeater you're hearing is using?

It is just a new voice channel for 2-29, so it uses the site nac 141.

853.975 is what I was wondering about, not the input freq.

Yep, NAC is 141. Doesn't come in very well to me but just good enough for DSD to...mostly...decode it. There's at least one other frequency my radios don't like for some reason from the Normal site and I've never been able to figure out why. Yet I can pull in Congerville and most of the other McLean County sites with absolutely no problems at all. Go figure.
