I hear a faint whisper on 853.575 on my SDS100 from Berlin, NJ which is well up into Camden County. Interested to see what will happen once I get closer to the I-295 corridor.

Impressive DX. I didn't hear a bunch of other control channels if ducting was going on. I should of searched the 700 range as well would of told me.

Yea well last night around 10:00 I could hear NJICS Cape May County, Atlantic County Atlantic City and Egg Harbor Twp sites clear as day from Camden County. Atlantic County 800 reaches really far even during normal conditions. Smyrna is quite impressive though.

Too late for me to verify today. 853.350 is an alternate control channel for the current Sussex site which would make sense from a frequency coordination standpoint. What doesn't make sense is that 853.350 is actively being used by the current SmartZone system as a traffic channel.

Adding, 853.350 is not very active as a traffic channel; it's last use today was at 8:15am. 852.600 last use today on the SmartZone system was at 8:42am. No evidence of a new P25 control channel that I can detect from my location.

So after looking at @hey posts, I decided to mess around with the NCC and Kent Sites by programming them in as a P25 Trunk on the SDS100. For both sites, I'm seeing the same Sys ID (689h) and WACN (BEE00h). For the NCC Site, I'm getting a Site ID of 11 and a data control channel of 853.9375. For Kent, I'm getting a Site ID of 12 and a data control channel of 853.650. At the current moment, I'm not picking up any voice traffic, so I wonder if this is just the beginning of them turning this new system on??

Via Unitrunker in NCC on the simulcast system.
WPSI864W BSI being thrown on 853.9375cc. Reporting as site 11, with 3 other channels, 853.2125 (current cc), 853.9375, 853.9625 all as alternate cc's. None are registered for voice.

Peers show as 853.650 (Kent) and 853.0875 Hockessin IR (NCC)
I'll have to take a drive to Hockessin as it's out of RX range.

No other CC on the Winterthur IR site which is well within range.
Looks like they are grabbing a current alt CC for system staging at each site.

Nice job team!

Morning Guys.

Using the information from above, I programmed a G4 with the NCC & Kent information.

Using the WILDCARD TGID, the radio took right off. Site is 1/11, which I assume is NCC.

Currently TGID 4004 is very active with several units all doing voice testing. I'm seeing both 4 & 7 digit RIDs.

Will continue to monitor.

Some updated information:

Continue to hear voice testing on NCC site.

Programmed Kent Co information into the G4 and am receiving full signal. Site id is 12. Nothing received as of yet.

Location is the Bear area, very close to Lums Pond as a reference. Using an outside antenna.

As a new system begins to come online for testing, individual tower sites that are members of a simulcast cell are turned on - and sometimes turned off. That would explain why some can see a new control channel and others cannot.

Weren't all the IR sites converted to full sites a while ago?

Both these channels make sense from a frequency coordination standpoint as they are current control channel possibilities for the corresponding sites.

853.350 continues not to be assigned voice traffic on the Smartzone system since yesterday at 8:15a. Same pattern with 852.600 - appears to be no longer used by the Smartzone system.
