Yeah on TV they looked brown looking down on them from above.. Prob some real special paints involved.. I think VMFA-121 is still only active Marine Corp squadron..
Guess Navy two engine F-35C's a ways off yet..
Seems the Apaches's out of Edgewood via Fort Campbell finally brought Army some luck
in victory.. Bout time..

Yea, the Navy won't IOC their F-35Cs until Block 3F production representative software is released for the jet, ~2019, and a lot of mechanical / structural mods to work through as well. Also, Navy F-35Cs are single engine jets like both the Air Force and Marine variants.

Ok I see they did give up on twin engine design.. Interesting.
No wonder the Navy wants some more new Hornets in the meantime.. Gonna be a while
for the F-35C.
One final note when the big game is in Philly I get all the Navy/Army Gulfstream VIP planes into PHL but guess not needed today
in Baltimore... Guess Pentagon Brass used Limos/Choppers instead..

Thanks..

The F-35s were 4- F-35C from VFA-101 @ Eglin AFB, FL.

The USMC has 2 F-35 Sqn Now.
VMFA-121 "Green Knights"
VMFA-211 "Wake Island Avengers"

Both based at MCAS Yuma.

Explains the lighter shade of grey, at least when seen from below. Interesting that they chose to base / refuel at Andrews instead of PAX, considering that more expertise to service the jets is available at PAX. Must have had some post-game parties to attend, or maybe the game?

Did anyone see them on ADS-B? We had them initially on our traffic display, but I didn't check to see if they were an ADS-B client, or we were getting them as a TIS-B target. Also didn't hear them on the radio, but we were guarding the SFRA freq and a working channel, not approach. They did look bigger than F-35 A or Bs, but it was hard to tell from below since they share the same planform. The Bravos are distinctive because of their hump when seen frontally, laterally or from the top.

Had 43C175, ZG775 Tornado G4 RRR9711 and 43C6FB, ZZ338 A332 Voyager RRR9101 eastbound over MRB at 19:42 UTC heading 095 on ADS-B. They were directly over my house, no visual due to cloud cover but certainly heard them.

Nice catch.. Think they finally landed Dover 2008z logged at 4700 feet here from West Coast today.
Prob just some RAF GR4 Desert range training/testing going on out there.
Will crew rest before hitting the Pond eastbound tomorrow.
Usually they have 2-3 GR4's but mostly only the one GR4 shows on ADSB.

Unusual CH-47F passing thru at 2000 feet "Freight Train 81"
Showed on mode s as (AE5990) FRTTN81 #13-08412 CH-47F at 2005z
Assume a CH-47F from JB Langley/Eustis 159th Av Regiment.
Lot of freight train history down there at Eustis home to the 7th Transportation Brigade.
Course rail outsourced some time ago to Northrop Grumman Tech services but still train Army freight crews there and 31 miles of track on post.
No wonder they use the Freight Train callsign..

12/15/16 @ 1855 local- Watching BACKY 44, 45, 46 (flt of 3 KC135) meeting up with an orbiting TEAM 45 (KC10A) out off NJ coast. Comms on 315.9
Looks like they're all heading east or maybe still orbiting.

And this is from a few days ago. Caught these guys on 282.8 and on ADS-B. JOLLY and KING
Low-Flying Military Aircraft Spooks Manhattan

Tech,

Looking at the flight patterns it sure does look like they were using these aircraft to test/evaluate some sort of aircraft surveillence/sensing system. And just today ADS-B Exchange has been showing one of those TEST1234 targets dead in the center of New York City.

On a personal note I was up in New York yesterday and did notice alot of security around Trump Tower (understandable). But what caught my eye was the large amount of local law enforcement presence in the 5-6 six blocks around Trump Towers--streets blocked off, etc.

KC-1-30 166380 FRDSHP1 (VMGR-252) and C-37 166377 VM101 heading this way, presumably from the John Glenn funeral in Ohio. That's probably how all those Marines (from 8th & I?) got there that I just saw on TV in the procession.

AF2 C-32 99-0003 heading into Philly it looks like.

1845- 166380 flying a BWI type arrival route. Actual callsign is FRIENDSHIP71. 133.85>128.7
I think MARINE373 or 377 was what I actually heard for 166377.

Eagle 63 was doing practice landings on the assault runway at Lakehurst yesterday.
Had him on ADS as a C-17 which is a little out of the norm. I didn't get the tail number.

Inbound Dover req ground power and offload for support for a DV.
