Adrian,

I'm putting some ZBW freqs in my scanner to see if I can hear them over the water. Would appreciate if you could validate what I have as accurate and any other freqs I should enter:

321.3 Barnstable
370.9 Barnstable
299.7 Calverton
306.3 Shelton
290.3 Barnstable
360.6 ?Sardi?
307.3 Barnstable
379.85 Calverton
269.3 Hyannis

Also have the following ZNY Oceanic freqs in my scanner:

354.0
381.6

Appreciate the help
Ron

Ron, here are the freqs I use for ZBW. They were taken from the last Letter To Airmen they published. I know there's a change for one of the sectors - either BOS or BOSOX sector I seem to remember. Perhaps one of the New England guys can straighten us out. I program just the closest few Sectors within ZBW which are on the list below.

Boston Center (ZBW)

Low:
135.8/259.1 SARDI 32
134.0/317.7 DXR 19
132.3/346.3 ERICK 33
123.85/269.2 PVD 34
128.75/290.3 CAPE 18
128.1/351.7 PWL 06
134.3/256.9 SWF 05
133.425/307.9 BOSOX 47

High:
124.525/299.7 HTO 31
125.575/290.35 IGN 20
128.75/290.3 CAPE 18
127.825/370.9 BOS 46

Edit: Ron, I sent you the PDF version of the Letter To Airmen issued by Boston Center. It contains the maps showing the high and low sectors. I should mention that it's now three years old but it's the last one they published. Anyone else that wants it, send me your email address. The last one issued by New York Center was in 2008. Those are the only two Centers that publish their freqs - as far as I can determine.

There's a sector map with frequencies for ZID and several for ZOB; don't know if they were official. They're fairly accurate, if not current.

DEECEE 51 is departing 1843Z - back to Andrews if I'm not mistaken - direct APE and switching over to ZID. If anyone gets it inbound on the box, please pass on the tail number.

DEECEE 51 (KC-135R) working Dayton for vectors into Patterson. Said they will be in the radar pattern for an hour or so. NASA 806 (ER-2, N806NA) just showed up as well.

1743Z 126.900 TOWER - NASA 806 final for 23R, gear down
1747Z 126.900 - DEECEE 51 about 2 miles from ANNEE (23R), low approach at or above 1800
1750Z 126.900 - on the go, switching to Dayton

Jared,

1528 EDT- DC 51 just showed up here at ADW and is landing

One of the Andrews KC-135s (57-1512, 756th ARS) returned to Andrews right around 1500 local. It was flying the CODY 01 mission and departed the McChord area this morning. It went out there on the 6th.

Re DECEE 51...it's 57-1487.

1534: EVAC 33113 (C-17A, 03-3113, 183rd AS MS-ANG Jackson) w/ADW Twr for landing runway 19R...118.4
1536: DECEE 51 Heavy (KC-135R, 57-1487, 756th ARS AFRC Andrews) w/ADW Twr for landing runway 19R...standby for gear...gear down...118.4
1542: ARMY 1944 (C-37A, 97-1944, OSACOM) w/ADW Twr for landing runway 19R...landing check in progress and he's got the helo in sight...118.4
1542: A couple of CT-ANG C-21As zipping by overhead at FL 350 and 370...84-0125 and 84-0128 respectively. Neither is displaying a correct callsign...the first is showing ANG84125 and the other is SPACE01 which he always shows.
HANK 42 (C-130H, 85-0042, 347th AS Maxwell) also passed through the area at FL 240.

1607: HAWK 01 (C-21A, 84-0098, 457th AS Andrews) (several calls to ADW Twr before establishing contact) reports 5 out, gear down, full stop on 19R...118.4 (then again has troubles being heard. He's l/c here.)

NASA 803 (G-III, N803NA) came from Buckley and departed a short while ago to Palmdale. Apparently they met up with NASA 801 (B200, N801NA) at Buckley (they went to Edwards).

Had AUTO 71 (KC-135) calling dispatch with no response after two tries, but then left the room - I'll have to check that one later.

Had something come in that I couldn't ID at 2043Z. No responses with Dayton, so I thought it might've been on UHF, but I did barely hear something with the tower - maybe just flying low with a weak radio.

That unidentified aircraft was NAVY JR 036 (C-20G). Did that come from Andrews?

NAVY JR 036 depared at 2139Z...I think I heard them readback direct APE, also may be deviating for weather.

HAWK 01 (C-21A, 84-0098?) arriving at Patterson...need confirmation on that tail. If it was the one from Andrews earlier, his radio problems are fixed now - 5-5.

E-6B 407 was on my box a little while ago. Then I started messing with my computer and had to shut it down. Then I heard ZDC calling CORD-56 on guard and to come up on ZNY 132.525. I'm pretty sure that was it.

CBP helo N5204J is in Leesburg now for the hostage incident.

Here's what I have for a log today after getting a very late start due to removing an old logging program and installing a new version.
NOTE: Callsigns are programmed by the aircraft crews and are often not updated for the current flight. So, take them with a grain of salt. Most REACH flights are correct as are JOSA flights. Tankers are very lax about programming their current call although some are correct.

Had these confirmed at Patterson, with the exception of 62-3518; it could be MASH 64, but I can't confirm it. MASH 64 departed at 1605Z.

HAWK 01 departed Patterson as JOSA 144; asked Dispatch to pass on a departure time of 2302Z to TACC.

NAVY JR 036 dropping off 12 pax (1 code 6), no fuel needed.

DEECEE 51 was in the pattern for an hour before returning to Andrews

Unknown tails for today:
MASH 64 (KC-135R) - picked up aeromeds
MAINE 94 (KC-135R) - called in to ask if they could do pattern work tomorrow
AUTO 71 (KC-135R) - called Dispatch and Buckeye Control, no response at either

Also had VADER 06 (C-130H, 89-9106) stop briefly before departing direct PLUMM (usually a routing back to Youngstown: KFFO~PLUMM-TVT~KYNG). It's possible that they were dropping off aeromeds.

Gold 71

0940 EDT- Gold 71 working with ZDC Sea Isle (133.125)--will be holdimg at FISSH intersection. At 0855 EDT also noted working on 347.2. This is MD ANG CP freq at Martin State but Gold 71 sounded like he was working some sort of ATC controller. At 0905 Gold 71 on 347.2 advises that the Mazdas won't be airborne for another 7 minutes.

At 0910 asks for direct Sea Isle in block FL150-170. Then QSY's to 127.7. Tells ZDC (127.7) they are meeting the fighters over Sea Isle in block FL150-170.

0939- four fighters working on 138.1--no calls noted--make that 6 fighters.

0944- Gold 71 tells ATC they will wait over Sea Isle for the fighters

0947- Gold 71 with fighters on 391.0---Mazda 21 flt--six fighters

Ron, the MAZDA flight leader is almost certainly one of our A-10 pilots from MTN. I recognize his voice. Nice catch.

Check 123.4 for the fighter interflight freq. Wow...these guys from MTN often just grab any freq they want but I've never heard them in this range. I was alerted to it by a fellow SBSer up the road 100 miles or so.
