E-6B 407 is ENE bound over Shenandoah Co,VA I think it is. If it stays on course it will be passing south of Dulles.

1630- Couple of unknowns on the fringe of my reception ADFF54 and ADFF5D,
1635- Both are descending from FL210.
1638- RANDY-71/81 with TRACON 335.5 For 1L at ADW. Seems to match the unknown hex codes. Should be T-38s from Randolph AFB.
1641- SUMMIT-23 C-130 96-7323 calling Oceana Ground 336.4. Wants to land 5L, asking what's available. They will weigh 105k lbs upon landing.

ASCOT 9329 FLIGHT (1x VC-10, 6x TORNADO) departed for Halifax this morning just after 1500Z. I got up to Dayton just as they were departing - saw the fighters circling and got two blurry pics while driving, then saw the tanker climbing out.

ASCOT 5727 (C-130C4, ZH879) departed at 1550Z.

CATMAN 01 FLIGHT (2x T-38A, 01: 65-10361) arrived; 01 did an approach before landing, 02 was full stop.

JOSA 741 (C-21A, 84-0077) was in just after noon...I didn't hear it leave yet.

JOSA 869 (C-21A, 84-0125) came in and just departed around 2020Z.

EPIC 88 (C-130H) called Metro for weather for Savannah ANGB at 2230Z.

Also, I had SENTRY 31 (E-3B, 76-1604) call Dispatch late last night for a phone patch, looking for the status of tanker HUSKER 25 - no answer from the number they gave; commented that it's a guard base and everyone probably went home.

The VC-10/C1K tanker was XV102 from 101 Squadron. The six Tornados aren't Mode-S equipped apparently - or don't have them turned on. They appear to be on a flight path for home. No idea where the C-130 went.

I had the VC-10 as XR808, based on logs from last night when it came in. The flight was cleared to ROD by Dayton, but I didn't hear any vectors after that.

The C-130 was cleared to Halifax as filed, but I heard routing as APE-EWC. I think the final altitude was FL270. Tower said "verify negative transponder," but the response was "positive transponder," followed by something I couldn't make out. Maybe that's why it's not showing up.

My log showed only the RAF C-130 for 20 minutes so probably
up over Pennsy far from me.So weak the callsign didn't show.

(43C024) ZH879 RAF C-130 ... 2009/07/08 16:47z-17:05z

ANVIS-21 is up doing some work at 7500ft for 20-30 minutes. Now operating on 134.7. Apparently it doesn't have mode-s.
2043- Mission complete, RTB.

Just logged 43E7A4 an unknown with an apparent RAF code.
2040- Italian Air Force Fiat G-55 Reg. 5 on the box.

Also logged that 43E7A4 at 0032z-0045z FL 41k.
Seems more and more civilian UK aircraft lately are using that
43E7** range. All civilian but software defaults to RAF.
Seems RAF really show as 43C***

I had this one too. 0110z, still FL41 so Eastbound.
Still an unknown from the relatively new range of M-**** registrations now
being issued by the Isle of Man, which has an independant Govt and is not
part of the UK, but is still a crown dependancy.
I think these are almost exclusively biz-jets, its kind of like a flag of convienience
for owner/operators. Similar to the VB-, VP-, VQ- registered ones that almost never
go anywhere near Bermuda etc.
Plus it`s enabled some `cherished` reg`s like M-AGIC etc

Mace 99

0854 EDT-- have Mace 99 landing at ADW (257.2). Seems to me there have been several Mace "visitors" to ADW in the past couple of weeks. Is the 121st FS switching out F-16s with the SC guys?

Boise callsign

Guys,

One of the guys in southern PA posted on Milcom that the PA Amy NG OH-58s in the Reading area are using the callsign Boise ##. Appears they are from the local RAID unit doing recon helping the local law enforcement folks looking for marijuana growers.

Hi Ron,

MACE 99 is the 157th FS/169th FW SC ANG C-130E.

Tony

Hmmmm...157th FS/169th FW....may I assume the FS and FW are FIGHTER Squadron and Wing?

MACE fighters did several flyby routines over the July 4th weekend and recovered at Andrews. OTOH, the budget is so screwed that the Air Force may soon have to convert old C-130s with a gunner mount and take over CAP duties. Just having some fun Tony. :)

Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT)
yesterday delivered the 14th of 16 C-130J Super Hercules to Little Rock Air
Force Base, Ark. The aircraft will be assigned to the 41st Airlift Squadron,
the first active-duty combat C-130J squadron in the U.S. Air Force. This
latest C-130J Super Hercules was accepted by Major General Winfield W. Scott
III, Commander 18th Air Force, Scott Air Force Base, Ill.
"After we deliver this aircraft to Little Rock, this C-130J could be flying
a combat mission within the week, if so tasked. <snip>

Re: MACE 99

Hi Tin,

Yep, that's the one, actually an H model now I think and without my db here I can't provide the serial, but yes MACE 99 is the callsign of the C-130H assigned to the 157th FS/169th FW SC ANG at McEntire ANGB.

Just thought I should mention that three of our MD-ANG C-130J types were sitting on the ground at Ramstein AB, Germany last evening. They are:
97-1351...97-1353...97-1354

97-1351 went over on 2 June as TERP 51 and has been logged since operating as HKY30, HKY 671, HRKY 671, HKY 83 and HKY 602

97-1353 went over 22 June as TERP 53 and has been logged since operating as KOO 06, HKY 681, HKY 651 and KOO 05

97-1354 went over 6 July as REACH 429 and has kept that callsign since

One of McGuire's KC-10s was also noted...84-0188
And one of their C-17s....04-4133

And another note on a local....
A-10C, 78-0632 from the 104th FS at Martin State was noted departing here at 1009 this morning. He was next logged by a monitor in Ontario (I assume the A-10s went to the range at Ft. Drum) and now is noted back here at 1433.

It's WC-130H 65-0985.

Nothing much at Patterson today:

HAWK 01 (C-21A, 84-0077) departed at 1159Z for Andrews...RON from last night - arrived as JOSA 741 yesterday afternoon.

REACH 8219 (C-5A, 68-0219) returned from Europe - A2 for numerous writeups.

REACH 18 (C-21A, 84-0098) called Scott Dispatch at 1716Z - no response.

RHINO 91 (C-5A, unid) returned from a mission (departed on Tuesday evening), two writeups: #1 TACAN inop, flight station temperature autocontroller (thermostat) inop; RAT check successful.

Visual on a C-130 (looked like a J-30, tail band appeared to be red) while out with a friend. I was at 39.2923/-84.655 and saw it heading SSW, then a slight turn due S...judging from the location and altitude, I assume it was picking up the RNAV 18R at KCVG.

2233Z 126.900 TOWER - SUNNY 126 (unid) cleared to land
