Jared,

The Capitols were F-16s from 121st FS DC ANG at Andrews. 143.6 is one of their presets and Capitol is their "travelling" callsign.

Heads Up Atlantic City and Langley

11:07 am EST

Hey guys,

I'm losing comms with BLUE 11 and TREND 74 on 126.225 (ZBW).
He's headed your way with TREND 74. They're heading to Atlantic City and
on to Langley AFB as destination. TREND 74 is having a hydraulic problem
but should make the whole flight non-stop. BLUE 11 will RTB to McGuire
when he splits off.

Their A-A comms are 254.600 (Coronet 71 I Pri)

Hope you catch him!! I posted to all yahoo groups but still have
not seen it come back. Must be slow again today!

Hope this helps,

Looking on my paper the Capital was 92. Thought I heard wrong on the number. Thanks for the heads up. Had 4 radios going at the same time.

Just logged AE2FA4 as RCH261 which is most likely McChord's new C-17 08-8192 delivered on 12/9.

Earlier heard EA-6B VADER-03 landing at ADW.
Tonight I've been hearing TRACON simulcasting on the Guard Dog freqs 135.525/350.25 with DCA arrivals.

Midday AE18EC was logged as 15SSUCKS, clearly a MD ANG A-10 flown by the pilot I met in September.
Some day in 2010 my friend now at a Laughlin AFB may pass through the area with an unusual flight ID.

Plug in 135.825 and see if you catch anything - heard the ER-2 reference it a few times while at Patterson this summer...I believe it's a NASA flight test frequency.
The WB-57 was up late Sunday night but I never heard anything. Radarbox showed it was up last night too.

Airshows in Dubai ??? ;) Ooops, bi-lateral training ....

FWIW:

1545Z : TREND 71 A2A on 262.025
1545Z : TREND 71 wkg ZBW ACK17 on 269.300 - Rqst descent .. rgr switch 254.3
1545Z : TREND 71 wkg ZDC CYN58 on 354.300 [weak chk in]
Note: seems like quite a jump from Nantucket sector to Coyle

1553Z : TREND 74 & 75 A2A on 233.525 - NHL/Hockey trivia [real hockey buff, one of them]
1609Z : BLUE 11 clg Brickyard on 319.400
1609Z : BLUE 11 wkg ZBW on 124.525 - working on split-up by ACY, TRENDs going direct to LFI, we're going to WRI
1611Z : BLUE 11 clg "McGuire Metro" on 134.100
1611Z : BLUE 11 wkg ZBW on 124.525 - TREND 74 "had" a hydraulic issue, but they worked it out.
1619Z : TREND 74 wkg BLUE 11 on 254.600 Coronet I1 - understand you did "not" declare with Center??? ... OK, 250B260 dir LFI, tnx for all your help.
1626Z : TREND 74 wkg ZDC on 281.450 [is this SIE59 or ACY59 now?]
Note: interspersed throughout was TREND 74 & 75 discussion about the hydraulic issue, possible actions to take if it didn't work out [including a landing in the surf????] Apparently there was a major pucker-factor earlier, which I totally missed.

CG Items

Guys,

Some listeners in the Southeast have been hearing CG helos and ships using the 160-165 MHz and 410-420 MHzbands for P-25 digital comms.

I've been searching these bands locally and have heard what I think is P-25 digital stuff on 163.05 a known CG tac channel.

Any of you with digital capability and can hear the Baltimore/Chespaeake Bay or Atlantic City areas might want to check it out

If you do check it out and hear anything I'd be interested in your findings.

They were UGLY 1 & 2 working in the Duke MOA and as you noted they did refuel with the TAZZ tanker out of Rickenbacker.

That beep on 287.450 should be a Mickey (Have Quick TOD pulse) from the AWACS, though I think RAYMOND 16 also broadcasts it on request.

The WB-57 was up late Sunday night but I never heard anything. Radarbox showed it was up last night too.

Tracks are on FlightAware as usual...probably testing something relatively minor, since they're not flying very high.

Try these frequencies for NASA Langely:
122.850 OPS
123.150 FLIGHT SUPPORT
123.375 OPS
123.450 FLIGHT SUPPORT
310.400 OPS
314.600 AIR OPS
382.600 AIR OPS

Also a good read:

Due to a few scanner issues today, I didn't log much out of Patterson...a few unknowns with just numbers and no callsign. On the other hand, I did a lot of listening to Springfield F-16s; I'm trying to finish compiling all the presets for the Wiki (I have about half posted). A bit frustrated that I can't find their ops frequency yet....

Should be able to record some more tomorrow - Fridays are usually big for transient fighters.

LiveATC, I assume? I just hopped on to the Atlantic HF to do a little listening as well. I've been on the KCVG Tower feed the past several nights while I work on identify company frequencies for DHL.
