CABAL-71 87-0124 and TEAM-17 chatting away on 139.875..

CABAL 71 has been posted elsewhere as one of the KC-10's taking Langley
F-22's from Hickam Hawaii to Kadena on Jan10th.CABAL 61 is the other KC-10.
F-22's supposedly using callsign SURF 61,71 flt of 6 each on that leg.
Maybe they will depart here soon.Didn't hear anything today.
I had CABAL 71 climbing to 33k then gone 2017 local.Could be headed West to stage.

0506z had NYGIANTS KC-10 #86-0036 up to 35k then gone, prob Westbound as well.

He was actually chatting about all the places he would be going, among them Guam. The other guy asked if they were going to deliver any goods to guys out there.

That ties that up..Thanks..CABAL 61 could be a Travis KC-10 already out there.
Question now is who takes them on the first leg West from Langley.

2300 RCH 6163 C-17 Travis inbound McGuire on RB and CP 319.400 and on ZNY 132.200 Middletown low
coming across Pennsylvania.

Explanation for RB users with outage today.. Had me worried. I noticed a couple websites have gone away since the New Year or changed hands.

Mark

As most of you may have noticed we have experienced a system outage since 7 AM UTC today. This has been caused by a severe failure in one of the drives on our central server in Dallas, TX.
For RadarBox users this failure resulted in the loss of the network feature for a few hours.
The server has now been restored and we are evaluating the causes of this incident. Our sincere apologies for this fact which was the biggest incident/downtime for our company since 2005. We will do our best to avoid it from happening in the future.

In addition to the CABAL tankers for the F-22s, they appear to be getting ready for a deployment of some type in Europe too. There were a bunch of GOLD tankers into Mildenhall to stage for the event.

GOLD 62/72/82 were all KC-10A tankers from the 305th at McGuire:
79-1949...85-0027...79-1712

There are also KC-135s as GOLD 63/73/83:
58-0089...63-8027...63-7977

Word I got was they deployed the Lakenheath 492nd F-15E squadron on thru
the Med...Big tanker lineup.
Fairly quiet here today so guess our F-22's will wait another day.

I knew about those 18 F-15s from EGUL that went to war but didn't think the tankers would all be at EGUN still with the GOLD callsigns. It makes sense though - since they've had enough time - to haul those F-15s and then return.

Potomac freq

Guys,

I apologize if this is a dumb question---but is 126.55 still used by Potomac TRACON? I've not listened to Potomac stuff for awhile but recently tuned in again. I'm hearing stuff on 125.65 but nothing on 126.55 which I thought was part of the TRACON.

Still part of TRACON but doesn't seem to be used as much as in the past. However, it's a secondary freq for Guard Dog VHF. Occasionally, they'll use that one instead of 135.525 for whatever reason.

I've never heard it used that much. The pattern and amount of traffic probably determines its use.

Anyone have a C-130 tail that matches REACH 2206?

That explains the REACH 2206 then. Thanks Mark. I had him on the Mode-S log for a long time - showing BULL 95 for a callsign. That's the same transmission I heard (ETA 1910, need 24K gas, etc) when he called in to CP on 349.4. I'll sure be glad when it's finally mandatory to use their ADS/B and use a correct callsign. Most REACH missions do it already. The number of aircraft using ADS/B in the airline industry sure has increased since I got my unit a couple of years ago. I've had to make all the info blocks just one line on the radar screen so they all fit.

Glad you posted the CAP reason. I've been trying to get to it all day and keep getting busy with something else and never got to post it myself. I even wrote it down on my notepad and still didn't do it. The NCLB program is a boondoggle anyway - one more way to spend our money. :)
