Mark,
I posted the buttons below a few pages back. all these were recovered one busy evening. 282.275 appears to be an approach freq for Martin State, or that's what it was used for that evening, they pushed 4, then pushed 3 to the tower.
{edit to add} It's actually a BWI Approach freq paired with 119.0

Chuck

{2nd Edit, OK I'm not going deaf as fast as I feared,777 is correct Thanks Paul!}

1933 <121.8> PAt 825 inbound Andrews, Army UC-35 with codes on board. Unable to contact Command post Calling Andrews Ground, apparently get response from Mcguire ground as well.....Then calls tower 118.4, same message plus "talked to ground at every airfield on the east coast"

2041 Bicep-11 with Devil Ops<261.0>
2120 Angry1 Flight (now three) checks in <354.8> will be in area 30 mins, still on AA <127.275> popping flares? Doing target Exercises and buddy lasing...
2145 <271.0> Harass flight still up there on Cap...
2157 <354.8> Angry 1 flt gettting clearance for the "tunnel" back to ADW
2159 <271.0> Harrass 33 with HUNTRESS 33,34 departing CAP. Tanker =Tanker 32

AR777 is located in W-105 off the coast of Cape Cod (for some reason it's not listed in most guides). Pri: 228.000 Sec: 288.000. This is normally a Giant Killer or Huntress track for air defense ops, but I have heard channel missions use it once in a while. Usually I hear NJANG F-16s and MAANG F-15s on this track along with AWACS a/c.

The Combat Air Patrol over NYC might just continue for several days. The United Nations World Summit begins tomorrow and runs through the 16th. 160 world leaders will be in NYC - with several of them having already arrived. I wonder if Langley got tagged for the whole thing. Paul, let us know if any of the MA or CT units get the call.

Before I forget...thanks Paul. Guess how I found that 271.0 HUNTRESS freq?

And thank you too Chuck for that picture. That's the guy.

2003: DC-ANG up on 127.275, ANGRY callsign, flight of four. (Have the ANGRY flight on the webcast for now)
ANGRY leader goes to SOF 139.9 and announces take off time "on the hour." Guess he forgot to do that earlier.

NOTE: Chuck, you can have the log tonight - I'm busy with some other things. If I hear something new I'll note it - otherwise it's all yours. Of course, that's if you wish to.

Jack

Nope, don't know what 353.5 is without some research Jack.

Chuck, that ZDC Washington Center 254.3 freq the ANGRY flight used is in Shipbottom NJ so they went north for their exercise which should rule out the GIANT KILLER area. It's Area G (High) which covers 24-33,000 feet.

Thanks Chuck for that,I thought it may be a apprch freq as they seemed to be headed into Martin State.
Also I can confirm 290.475 as Potomac appch from Annapolis area as had that in scanner from back when Blue Angels were doing Navy grad show back in May and had hits on it.

Mark, the question that's open is whether it's U-6. The Potomac approach ID is golden.

So is your W107 golden Chuck. I keep forgetting that part of the GK area. It's sort of like always thinking Virginia signals are from the south when a lot of what we hear on the police/fire freqs are due west.

This callsign seems to have been associated with VAQ-209 in the past. Are they still at Andrews?

Nevermind Chuck..I got here sooner than I thought.

Just a mention - The NYC Combat Air Patrol is now being done by TIGER 11/12 with TANKER 37. The TIGERs may be from the 115th Fighter Wing of the WI-ANG in Madison or the 79th FS at Shaw AFB SC.
TANKER 37 is probably from Pease AFB NH based on the wx report he asked HUNTRESS to get for him for PSM. They are still using «271.0» with HUNTRESS.

Note that the JEDI aircraft that Chuck mentions above could also be from the WI-ANG or any of several locations according to the callsign list.

Today was another busy day with all the ANG units within hearing range active - MD (COLT) -- DC (ANGRY) -- NJ(DEVIL & BANGER -- PA(FLYER) -- VA(SLAM & BASH) plus Langley's F-15s and Navy F-18s. Those of you that listen to MilAir during the day were swamped I'm sure, as I was.

1957: DC-ANG up «127.275» RAVAGE
2000: BATON 55 (EC-130, 193rd Special Operations Group, PA-ANG, Harrisburg) enters the GIANT KILLER area «135.725»
2005: VA-ANG active Command Post freq «141.6»
2010: Two more DC-ANG fighters up, using «143.15» ANGRY
2030: NJ-ANG up «138.3» BICEP
2037: STEEL 61 flight in the area (KC-135 PA-ANG, Pittsburgh) Might be refueling the DC birds.
2042: Have a BACKY 85 Heavy (KC-135, Seymour Johnson) checking in with HUNTRESS on «364.2»
2045: The RAVAGE F-16s are indeed trying to hook up with STEEL 61 for refueling. But they keep seeing a C-130 - the BATON flight.
2053: Refueling freq is «266.5»

Alan, I'm listening to the DC ANG on your website right now. This sound quality is great compared to what I currently have with only an indoor antenna. Do you have an idea where they are compared to the BWI area?

JEDI is also popular training callsign for McGuire C-17's.Sort of like BOLAR and HAGAR for Dover C-5's.

Wish they'd space this activity out...have both RAVAGE and ANGRY flights attacking targets as are the NJ guys...three freqs, two ears...wish I could get them all on the broadcast.

Another ramp freeze at Andrews began at 2140 to last for up to 45 minutes.
ANGRY and RAVAGE flights stuck in the air until it's over.

This is pretty crazy this evening. Angry, Ravage, Baton, Bicep, Steel, Jedi, Hoser, Backy.....guest appearance by Tiger on the way home,
Who's Arrow/Aero? Any idea?

And there's my Answer -- Aero-22 with NJ Command post <261.0> Thanks for your input as well, Alan.

New Jersey F-16s...I still like AERO for the call...that first syllable sounds like "AIR" to me.

ANGRY flight might get low on fuel before the ramp freeze is called off. 4500 pounds left on ANGRY 1 and he's got less than 2. His flight is going to circle over Nottingham.

2204: NJ-ANG active again...BICEP «138.25»

2205: RAVAGE flight down to 3.2 and 3.4 K fuel.
2210: ANGRY flight will land first - lower on fuel. (But changed that later)
2213: Now they say there is an emergency in addition to the ramp freeze at Andrews. They may have to use the Beltway for landing. <g>
Think they are setting up with Patuxent for an alternate landing site if necessary...just checked in with Pax on 120.05
They'll be landing on runways 19L & R.

2220: ANGRY switched to tower 349.0 and got permission for both flights to land.
Unusual that RAVAGE contacted SOF on UHF...normally they only use the 139.9 freq.
2230: RAVAGE flight on the deck «349.0»
2234: ANGRY flight about to be on the deck.

I thought I had already submitted that V-7...originally it was both 139.15 and 143.15 and then settled on 143.15

Have you already submitted it Chuck? If not, I'll add it to something else I've got.

Apparently, the DC-ANG was going to fly tomorrow night also. RAVAGE flight mentioned that they probably won't though because of the weather coming our way.

[Edit] Will do Chuck...my memory is obviously shot. I remember thinking about submitting that one a couple of months ago and must have just totally forgotten about it. CRS.
And great job tonight logging all those freq changes as they hopped around the spectrum.

And Paul...if you're reading...I see Otis Air National Guard base has been spared and will not be closed as originally thought. Way to go! Happy listening.

Alan
