No mention whatsoever about how well the new units will handle digital simulcast issues, )-;

I'll be on the sidelines awaiting reports from those "early adopters"... If the simulcast isn't solved, I don't have alot of need for a new Uniden and, as someone else has stated, will await the offerings from Whistler (GRE)....

I'm betting that it probably won't handle digital simulcast issues any differently. The only way to get commercial grade handling of simulcast issues would be to rework a lot of circuitry in the scanners and charge you hundreds or more dollars above and beyond the price the average scanner hobbyist would be willing to pay.

Mr. Upman you are a Genius. Keep up the good work. Those radios look really nice and I want one of each in January.

Lets keep this straight. If Uniden says that they will Support Phase I and II and X2 TDMA then Simulcast issues will be resolved. Trust me they have done their homework. Its a fine unit and love the bigger screen and the wireless features and also the SD memory card support up to 32 gigs of storage.

I think everybody should have a consumer and a commercial grade radios and have the best of both worlds if they are complaining so much about their current issues.

You could tell that it was recorded, and it was late starting in the Eastern Time Zone.
Sorry, but I can't see giving $600.00 fo a base, or $500.00 for a handheld that only does P25 Phase 2.

The bottom line is that it will have P-25 Phase 2 TDMA. This is a big deal for 396XT users (like myself) who live in areas that are using and/or deploying P-25 systems with Phase 2 TDMA. In my area (Denver-Metro region of CO) they are currently building a new P-25 system, and at least some TG's will utilize Phase 2 TDMA. Prior to the new Uniden models the only option was a PSR-800. I was previously planning on getting a PSR-800 SOLELY and EXCLUSIVELY because of TDMA Phase 2 support. Now I have a better option.

For what it says it does,... Awesome tool... But for those of us into deep scannology.... No DMR, NXDN, LTR Pass Port, LTR Multinet, proper multisite P25 support,... Makes it jut a great toy to run feeds and develop info on systems we allready can monitor to a point....

I'd like to see the Wifi feature let you use another scanner to monitor/control. That way I would buy 2 of them, put one in a remote location and use the second to access it.

Paul did hint that more features related to wifi would be coming, near to March. Let the rampant speculation continue! :D

Not impressed on multiple levels, the commercial the product features. Back on board the hype train. They listen?

Yes, and we had to wait through many minutes of silence and music, then utter disappointment. Just another brick-sized monster with some added features, but not even improved audio output. Have you tried hearing your scanner on the fireground?. How can they make cell phones so small with so many features and even good audio? C'mon Uniden, lets get innovative.

Where are you guys getting this information that (a) audio output is not improved and/or (2) simulcast reception is not improved? Because I didn't see or hear that in either the video or the documentation that's come available.

Have you tried hearing your scanner on the fireground?

:confused: .....Nooooo... I use my fire radio on the fireground.

Given this has been a huge point of discussion for some time now, I would expect to see some indication it was been addressed. A lack of it even being mentioned anywhere is a concern.

Having said that, I like the latest and greatest tings just like the next guy, if it can be proven simulcast distortion has been addressed in the 436, even though there aren't any other "new" features that I can detect that I don't already have, I would become one of the first in line for pre-orders just to get a new toy.
