Thanks for the information, good find, I don't remember an official notification in the Forum.

None of this was ever an issue for me but I will say that the x36 worked great on a local nx48 460 MHz police system before it went encrypted.

Don't use my x36s since we are phase ll tdma and I am well covered for conventional stuff but thank you very much for bringing this to light. Good heads up.

yeah, I have the same question.
why is this information being reported by a non-uniden representative 3 days after release?
Why now and not on the tenth anniversary of the last release?
:)

That’s sad. And the 12th would have been the Uniden guy’s usual day to show up since it was a Wednesday.
Hard to believe it's been 10 years. My County used a Motorola type ll smart zone system then. The 436 had a shaky start with some units, quietly fixed with hardware changes, they were the flagship scanners.

Glad to see that they finally initiated the repair campaign, took a while but was the right thing to do.

Happy 10th anniversary, x36's, still being sold and supported.

Paul Opitz was a different kind of sad.

I agree it's a missed opportunity to announce updates for the x36's.

The BCD436HP has a bandscope? I completely missed that one. I will have to pull mine out and see where it is.

I haven't tested on digital, just AM Airband. But, there is a very noticeable increase in scanning speed. I will apply the update for my 536 later today and see if it works better on digital. Even though the public safety in my area is mostly encrypted, there are several small communities on the same system that have not switched.

996P2 had also been released. I posted a thread with links to each Uniden page with title showing each of the 4 models updated.

My preliminary impression is that the 325P2 improvement is outstanding with reception of P25 Phase 2 Simulcast signal comparable to my SDS200 and DSDPlus on a strong signal. Minimal breakup, getting every call, very good audio.

It looks like all of these updates are basically the same across different radios. In fact all of them mention a Bandscope mode. Only my SDS100 and SDS200 A have a Bandscope. But, I have not activated that feature yet. For such a small display, I don't know if I would find it useful.
