I could print them from polycarbonate, the same stuff I use for the SDS100 battery clips.

What about petg?
Think that would stand up to the heat?

Possibly. It prints at a higher temperature than PLA, but not as high as polycarbonate.

I printed one using it. It's strange stuff. It reminds me of vinyl. It's shiny and far more flexible.

I might hit you up to see what it would cost to print some poly ones.

PETG is kind of a PITA to work with. Strings like mozzarella, and either refuses to stick, or sticks so hard it tears chips out of the surface of your build plate, unless you use something like Magigoo. Polycarbonate is easier to work with, as long as you've enclosed the printer and have an all-metal hotend.

@mancow fantastic work on all this. Seriously, I’m blown away. I’ve been trying to come up with a solution for something like this in my truck.

I saw you mentioned the 996 series. Have you had a chance to play around with that at all? I currently have a 996XT, debated getting either a 536 or SDS200. I’d love to buy one of these from you, especially if they are compatible with my XT.

I wonder if anyone has already made progress?
And Mancow have you already received some parts for this project?

I finally got 5 displays last week but they sent different length corner standoffs with them. So, I had to then order replacements. I am working on putting some together and should be able to drop some on the for sale section soon. The price will be much higher than I would like but the parts are expensive.

Hi Mancow.....just wondering how things are coming and when you think you will be able to offer some for sale? I know you said the price would be much higher than you thought......any insight into what you are thinking for a price point?

And finally....you said you had 5 displays you were working on.....will you have more as I'm guessing you would be able to sell them. I know I'm looking for two and I'm sure there are others.

I spoke to him this past weekend in regards to the Remote Head project. He's a super busy guy but I can assure you he's still working on the Remote Head project. He'll chime in here at some point.

There are some things ra7850 have been discussing prior to release. I have several completed and enough to finish up ten total less one for me of course. A couple others are out to beta testers now.

A couple weeks ago there was something on one of the many FB groups I'm on asking about interest in a remote head for the SDS series. I'm guessing it was someone on here (Mancow himself maybe) asking about the interest and I think maybe even cost ranges was mentioned and what the interest was. Or maybe I was dreaming all of this because for the life of me I couldn't find the original thread. I was busy at the time I answered on FB and when I went to find it again I couldn't. But FB tends to play tricks on me all the time.

Hoping for something soon!!

Good News everyone, mancow and I have worked out most of the details and we're close to start accepting pre-orders. More information to follow, including a new website to place pre-orders.
