Is there any information out there about the recording quality that's built into the scanner?
Does it record in WAV or MP3 format? What's the KHz and kbps, etc.?

Listen and judge for yourself.

While this may have already been answered downstream what we said is that the special cable (Previously introduced for the 325) will power the radio and the GPS from a single USB power source. The cable has 3 ends, an S connector for the GPS puck, a USB Mini to pug into the radio and a USB-A to plug into a power source such as the USB port on the vehicle. It could also be used with one of those battery packs marketed for phones that provide a USB power jack.!../QUOTE]
I may want one of those. Do you have a URL where I can get one?
Is there such a cable for the 436?
I’d like to eliminate my cigarette adapter plug

It only matters where I am, and where I am and was is the only thing that matters. What good does it do me if there's no LSM distortion with my 396 in Toledo? And there are places in Myrtle Beach where your scanner would perform as it does in Ohio and places in Ohio where it would work perfectly.
The underlying technology used in the SDS-100 ensures it will perform the same in similar environments tens, hundreds, or thousands of miles away.

No there is not. It should be possible to wire one up though.

No, I tried to use the same cable for my 436 with no joy.
I don't know if there will be a way to do so with a firmware update down the road, if it requires hardware changes then I don't see that happening unless a third party wants to make the mods.
By the video most of the testing are done in Ohio .You need to do other states .There are big problems in other states .Like N.C.

I think the ad used a template with all that freight mumbo jumbo already listed. I'm hoping its just an error. As we learn more about the SDS-100 it is looking better all the time and looking at some places it will be able to be purchased from I noticed that at HAM RADIO OUTLET’s SDS-100 RESERVATION they have the following:
“Due to the shipping complexity of this item an additional shipping charge will be added when shipped.”
What is complex about shipping a handheld scanner?
And above a picture of the SDS100 that have:
“Fright Item in RED with an Exclamation mark inside a triangle.”
I thought fright items were too big and/or too heavy for UPS or FedX.
Anyone have any info on this?

Charlotte distortion is the big problem here .If I am going to buy that new radio I would like to know it is going to work before I buy it .

Either that, or wait until there's a few 'early adopters' in your area, and see what they are reporting. I would suspect that if there are specific problems that can be addressed via firmware, Uniden will likely do that. Much as we are seeing regular updates for the x36HP series after the NXDN release, some of which also include improvements on DMR or P25 functionality. It is illogical to think the beta testers can try every simulcast system in the US. My advice to you is buy it, try it and if it does not work, return it. Seems like a reasonable plan, no?
Exactly. There are several 'problem systems' in my area that have issues on the scanners currently available. But, at my specific location, I don't have an issue with them at present. I'm far enough outside their simulcast coverage that I don't have a problem. Others, in different locations, may not be as lucky. That is the only way to know for sure. Even if someone buys one in your town you still have to test at your site to know how well something will work.
I know people who have moved to a different part of the same city & found the LSM to be very different between the two places. So, you may need to borrow an SDS100 to be sure where you live it will work acceptable to you.
Honestly no S%*&.I could very well be wrong but I am guessing that their were a few beta testers around other systems that did not get posted here or any other social media. I do apologize for my candor. It is illogical to think the beta testers can try every simulcast system in the US. My advice to you is buy it, try it and if it does not work, return it.
