;) Folks, if anyone has a suggestion about what they would like from the new owners (suggestions), there is a process that lets you send it to them. This brand just went through an acquisition for a potential to service/make monies in the scanner business (saving the company brand). IF they 'make it' (rescuing the name Whistler), maybe they will ask the membership what they would like IF they decide to PRODUCE a new scanner (as well as modernizing the old hardware's software). I am sure of one thing, all the discussions both here in this forum (and others) about a new Whistler scanner (or changing the way these scanners use 'Easy-Scan'), was hashed over way back when the old Whistler folks were in business. Wishful thinking just doesn't make it happen... ;)

I'm still surprised that Uniden didn't build this into the SDS200. Doing that as part of the initial design would be a lot less expensive for them than designing it afterwards.

Whistler is still the only remote head option available so this could be a good thing...

I currently have the TRX 1. It would work better and scan faster it it wasn't dependent upon a MicroSD card. Furthermore, I hope they produce a scanner (or receiver) that would also include D-STAR, FUSION along with P25, DMR and NXDN, asside from what AOR is producing.
I doubt Icom and Yaesu are going let Whistler have the software to decode D-Star and Fusion. Or they will ask for a substantial amount of money for it, or other restrictions...

Neither D-STAR nor System Fusion are proprietary protocols. Neither Icom nor Yaesu charge license fees for these protocols.
