• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

Is there a way to stop the flashing green "TGID Removed" message box when blocking a TG during a scan?

i will recheck everything when i receive a transmission while scanning a trunk system my G5 is showing nothing its blank a the bottom no Hold or block!
You have to enable the feature in the pps file then reprogram your pager. It took me a little bit to find it. But tab 8 as others gave said. Scroll down until you find the Section for TG hold. Then click the box next to enable. Once that is done, reprogram your pager and it will show up.

I did all that but my pager still says v1.20

This is the most condensed list of steps I can think of to see if you missed something:
So you downloaded the PPS, installed it, start it up, connected the pager and read from it to save your current config and closed it when done. Then downloaded the firmware updater and ran it, follow the instructions with the pager still connected and press upgrade?

When I click on the new firmware 1.3 exe file in Window 10, I get this message:
89720

What is wrong? Thanks.
BTW, I have downloaded and installed the new PPS with no problem and backed up my existing programs on both my G4 and G5 pagers.

It's called "TGID Remove Setting" - same panel as "TGID Hold Setting" on tab D8.

Even though it looks like the file downloaded (Firefox tab scrolls green when I click Save File), the file size says 0 KB in Explorer. I have tried it 6 times now with the same result. I'll try it again in the morning  Any other ideas greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I had a similar problem, one was high latency or server congestion during my download (with my 1GB connection), and I just walked away for an hour and it was finally done when I got back to check it. The other was Windows 10 "security concerns" to deal with the file that I had to OK'ed to continue.

Here's a couple of issues I found or something I might be doing wrong:

1. Knob position set as 'Trunking TG-Monitor', blocked several TGs and after a couple of hours of usage, those TGs seem to be permanently Blocked now. Even after changing knob positions, changing zones, reprogramming for unrelated reasons, etc.

2. 'Screen Timeout Setting' set to 10 seconds and 'TGID Hold Timeout' set to 10 minutes. When the display times out and goes dark, the TGID Hold Timeout regressive counter apparently pauses at that point and only resumes when pager activates again from another transmission and stops again when it goes dark. Also if you connect the pager to the computer while the display is on timeout/dark, it won't get detected by the computer until you wake it up.

I am having the same results with TG hold timer countdown with my G4. I have my screen timeout setting at 30 seconds, TG hold at 2 minutes, after screen times out and goes dark the timer countdown stops. It will resume countdown if I bring up display manually or if TG resumes activity. I have not used the TG block as of yet though so I cannot comment on how it functions.

So ever since I updated fire dispatch channels come up on the screen briefly but no sound, all the tac channels work fine, what could have happened, I didn't touch any settings other than the hold setting.
