To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

I just keep going in circle with the download page.
I am having that problem as well. I commented about it on the Farcebook Unication page.

Here is what I wound up doing. When linked back to the Unication download page, click the "G2-G5 PPS Download", save the file, then install the new PPS (remember to make sure your pager is NOT connected or the USB driver will most likely not install).

My recommendation would be to download the PPS software before clicking the "Download Firmware V1.3" button. Then you can either install the new PPS or do it in the 'PPS' step in the Firmware update. Just do not click on the "Visit G# PPS Download Website". The help video is misleading.

I did screen captures last night, all the issues (including the one below) are shown. Because Farcebook only allows one picture per comment I put them all into a single picture.)

I am having another problem with this though. When attempting to download the firmware nothing gets downloaded. The file name appears in File Explorer with zero bytes. I have attempted this on two computers and trying to save to both the local (C:) and a network drive.

One attempt gave me a partial download stopping at 30,178KB. Would someone post the file size so I know how much of the firmware file downloaded.

I'm not familiar with your issue. Have you tried multiple amp chargers? Have you cleaned the contacts on the bottom of the pager? Eraser works well for cleaning.
According to the release notes for this new firmware, this is an issue that Unication is aware of. There is at least one thread here in this forum about it; numerous people are reporting it as an issue.

I have not tried another amp charger; I only have the one.

I finally got the download of the Firmware to work. I had to go to IE rather than Firefox for it to finally download. The partial download I mentioned in my previous comment was apparently the full file that Firefox (or Windoze) did not change the name from .exe.part to the .exe. when the download was finished.

If you have more than one pager you can update all you units from the same 'upgrade' window. Just connect the pager (and if it is one where the boot screen comes up allow it boot up) and click the 'update' button.

With the new firmware i was able to label some indvidual radio id's and it works fine. My question is is it possible to have a particular radio id number have an alert tone? or is that one possible with talkgroups?
thanks

No alerting per radio ID.

I'm unable to access the download. Each time I go through the initial steps I land here:

89733

When I click the green button, it sends me back to the downloads page. When I click on Download Firmware, it sends me back to the beginning of AutoUp. I keep going in circles, with multiple browsers. The unit currently has 1.20 and I'd like to upgrade. Can someone provide a valid, direct link to the firmware download please?

Does TG hold/remove work with the Wildcard TG? If so this would be a great way to search and hold on new, or unknown TGs.

So ever since I updated fire dispatch channels come up on the screen briefly but no sound, all the tac channels work fine, what could have happened, I didn't touch any settings other than the hold setting.

Never mind, the system was down

I can confirm that this does work and works very well for the exact comment you posted. To elaborate, one of the best ways to enjoy the new talk group hold and talk group block feature, you can take the following steps:

1. In PPS, open Tab D-5, and create a Group Alias called "Wildcard" (or whatever you want to name it) and use a P25 Trunking ID of "65535" (without the quotes).
2. In PPS, open Tab D-6, and select the Zone / Channel you wish to program, and double click to program it.
3. In the Zone and Channel setting, under "receiving mode", select "Trunking TG-Scan"
4. Select your P25 Trunking System that you wish to scan.
5. Under the "Knob - Talk Group List, In the box for "Non-Priority Talk Group List", add your Wildcard (Talk Group 65535).
6. Hit Save to everything and program your radio.
7. Enjoy!

Upgrade went well for me but my Bluetooth is still useless and I now have this wonderful low end background hiss in every single transmission.

On FW 1.2 I was unable to pair anything to either of my two G5s. On 1.3, I have successfully paired my AirPods, Powerbeat Pros, and AfterShokz devices perfectly on both G5s and the sound is excellent. Make sure that if you are trying to pair BT to the Unication that your headphone device is not already paired to your phone. To be sure, turn off BT on your phone or PC or whatever else might be paired to your headphone device. This will assure your headphone device is not paired to anything. Then, turn on BT on Unication, and activate pairing on both the Unication and the headphone device. I should add that the BT hardware is BT 2.0 (at least in my G5s) so its not going to be perfect based on today's BT standards, but its definitely an improvement over FW 1.2.

Yeah tried that, my car will pair now but no audio and my earbuds (Jlabs) just do not pair sadly.

I am experiencing the exact same symptoms. I’ve tried 4 different computers and can’t get the green button to download the firmware update. I’m stuck in an “endless loop!” How do you get passed this?

Has anyone else noticed that there is a significant delay, almost a second, in decoding the audio? I ensured that voice buffering is Disabled on those channel assignments, but it almost seems like the device isn't honoring that setting. When this was running 1.1 (yes, I rolled back due to false alerting on 1.2) the audio was nearly in real-time with my APX that's on the system. My device with 1.4 is still decoding in real-time with the APX.

EDIT: The issue appears to surface when the device is in the amplified charger - when I remove it from the amplified charger, the audio goes back to real-time decode.

EDIT 2: The amplified charger is causing this same behavior for the device running 1.4 as well

EDIT 3: Rolled back to 1.1 and audio is sync'd with APX while in charger...

Delay in amp charget and bluetooth is intentional to make sure the speakers are powered up before the audio message starts. No way to change that.

I mentioned this earlier in this thread that I noticed also with the amplified charger when TG hold is active it holds the speaker open during the entire hold so the speaker is powered on, actually like it better this way.

Also I have not noticed any of the signal drop off some have mentioned on here with pager in amplified charger. It may be that is due to me having the updated wall plug that has larger choke closer to the power input of charger, it also has the smaller one that is around the middle of cord. I just got my amplified charger a little over a week ago.

Pager no longer activated QC 2 on p25 with new update like it did on 1.10. When I went to 1.2 it didnt work so I went back to 1.1. Thought this issuse was fixed. All the other new features are working great except the QC 2 which is what I really wanted fixed. Can this be fixed in 1.4??

I'm experiencing the delayed audio issue after upgrading my G4 to 1.3. Not plugged into any base and bluetooth is off. I'm also not able to write programming to the unit. I can read it but not write the data back, I get a failed error message. I've updated the PPS, using the stock USB cable, and have even tried different PC's.
