• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Right now I am following my local sub-system in the All/Wildcard (65535) mode. I have the Receiving Mode: Trunking TG-Monitor with a All/Wildcard (65535) in the Priority Talk Group List. Is that the correct way to program it? I seems like a couple of firmware version ago there was a different way to go into the Wildcard Mode from the radio itself, but I assume that it no longer available.

I think the 'Trunking TG-Monitor' is the new equivalent way to monitor the system as a Wildcard. It works for me that way. So also having the TG 65535 is redundant. I also did find out that you can only program up to 63 TGs when using that mode. Apparently It'll let you enter 64 TGs but once you program the pager and start using it, it'll give you a "programming error" like it needs an empty slot for the TG-Monitor mode.

When I see the flashing green screen with white lettering TGIG Removed, I assume that simply a reminder that a talkgroup is locked out. I may have to see if I can eliminate that, but no big deal if I can't.

According to 'Uni1', there's no way to get rid of that at this time.

Has anybody here tried to see how many talkgroups can be "Blok"d while in the All/Wildcard Mode? I seem to recall seeing 64, but we shall see.
Yes, I've seen up to 64 TGs somewhere. Maybe on the software release notes.

AMAZING update, well done Unication! I had some of the same initial issues mentioned here in the forum and Tim at Unication @Uni1 instantly helped me get through them like a pro. A+++ customer service as always!

This is a game changer for sure in the monitoring market place in my opinion. I'll bet this 1.30 update and the next one will help them secure even more market share from the competition for those of us monitoring enthusiasts in simulcast areas.

Unication made my G4 the primary go to device for monitoring over my SDS 100 when Im out mobile monitoring. Im getting another Unication (G5) in the near future :)

I agree. I have both an SDS100 and a Unication G5. I will continue to keep both. Each is able to do some things that the other one can't. At least, that's what I tell myself to convince myself to keep both!

I too am noticing the audio delay when my pager is next to a scanner. The delay sounds like the delay between a conventional channel simulcasted over a trunked system (e.g., fire dispatch on VHF and a trunked system).

Do you have Voice Buffering enabled for the knob position(s)? Voice Buffering is recommended if you're using alert tones, otherwise the tones may cover the start of the voice message. Personally, I do not use alert tones, and turn off buffering.

Delay in amp charget and bluetooth is intentional to make sure the speakers are powered up before the audio message starts. No way to change that.
I believe the slight delay is intentional--it was post 96 in this thread. The delay goes away if you hold on a TGID, however.

It’s almost like Voice Buffering on V1.2 was working only on the channels I had set to record and now on V1.3 is always working for everything assigned on each knob. I think it’s a good thing to have the option as it is now.

Higher volume? Lower?
It’s definitely lower. Before the update, even with the volume turned all the way down you could still hear audio, now with it turned all the way down, mine is silent. All the way up is slightly quieter than before. Not saying it’s a bad thing or anything, that was just something I noticed right away.

When I went to turn off Voice Buffering, the PPS warned me that if I did, that the first portion of the transmissions might be cut off. So I decided to leave it on; I can live with the delay. (I did not actually try it to see for myself).

I don't use alert tones. Despite the corporate attorney-induced warning message you're referring to, I don't detect any missed portions of the beginning of any transmissions.

I got a G5 earlier this year and have never had any luck in 10 natively with any PPS releases involving the codeplugs whether it was making changes, saving and sending to the radio. Lots of corruption would occur including nearly rendering the receiver useless, so I've resulted to 7 in a virtual machine and haven't had any problems at all with that method. All PPS releases since I had the radio have the same random problems and program crashes.

Did you try booting Win 10 in safe mode and then opening PPS? I've been running Win 10 Pro with at least three PPS versions and have not had any trouble. You may also want to check your antivirus software for any involvement.
