• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

To add a little more to that, even when you plug it in to charge with the included cord/brick, it won't start charging until you wake up the screen.
I don't have that problem with the basic desktop drop-in charger. It immediately begins charging.

Thank you! I don't know if dragging the Group ID settings (D5) in previous versions of PPS worked or now. But it's working now. It will take me a little while to sort the 200 some ID's, but I'm happy.

However, I'm not able to move the frequency settings around (in tab D2). I have about 170 conventional frequencies that are not grouped neatly as they were added at different times. Has anyone cracked that nut? Or is that a wish for the next version of PPS?

Love the hold and block features on the new firmware.

I noticed that since upgrading I'm hearing background clicking on my Mpow bluetooth earbuds. It's not present on all transmissions but does exist on at least 50%.
Mine pop when my transmissions come in, but it's a light popping noise so you can tell something's coming in. (JLab Go Air)

This is for Unication..... when using the drop in charger with bluetooth connected it will disconect the bluetooth even though it shows connected sound comes out of the pagers speaker.

I don't have the answer, but I really wish they would make it optional. I like using my Bluetooth but can't when it's in the charger, either of the drop in chargers... UGH

Delay in amp charget and bluetooth is intentional to make sure the speakers are powered up before the audio message starts. No way to change that.
Thanks for confirming that behavior. If using in a station PA scenario, the delay is quite annoying since there may be other radios around that are receiving the traffic a second earlier. It works great on version 1.1 so it would seem that it could be a setting based on user preference as to whether or not that delay would be enabled.

One thing that would have been very helpful in the PPS V3.16 is to include a "notes" column in D5 "Member List Setting". That would have enabled us to include a more meaningful description for each "Call Alias", and allow us to keep better track of our entries.

I have the impression that the bluetooth volume is a little lower. I was thinking this the other day when I noticed I have to turn the volume on the radio higher than I did before.
I don't have a past reference for comparison but I do have to turn it up to 60 or more to hear it decently on my AirPods.

I just took the plunge. I am also enjoying the Hold and Blok options now. I enabled those right away.

I checked my zone list and I still have 128 available, which is great.

I found out pretty quickly that I do NOT like TGID Un-Hold Alert, so I doubt that I will be enabling that again.

I am still experimenting with the TGID Hold Timeout. I am glad it is an option, but I still am not sure how much I will use it.

Right now I am following my local sub-system in the All/Wildcard (65535) mode. I have the Receiving Mode: Trunking TG-Monitor with a All/Wildcard (65535) in the Priority Talk Group List. Is that the correct way to program it? I seems like a couple of firmware version ago there was a different way to go into the Wildcard Mode from the radio itself, but I assume that it no longer available.

When I see the flashing green screen with white lettering TGIG Removed, I assume that simply a reminder that a talkgroup is locked out. I may have to see if I can eliminate that, but no big deal if I can't.

Has anybody here tried to see how many talkgroups can be "Blok"d while in the All/Wildcard Mode? I seem to recall seeing 64, but we shall see.
