Funeral for Henderson County Deputy killed in the line of duty was held today.

Yes sir, that was on Golf 1, which I'm hearing also just finishing up. However, this was routine dispatch traffic on Golf 2 not funeral/escort related.

@waterbwuk assume you mean which tower, the NCSHP Training Center Tower in Raleigh, due to affiliation.

Just speculation but any chance they had officers from another jurisdiction answering calls so Henderson county deputies could attend the funeral? With an events channel being the easiest for everyone to share?

Yes this is exactly what was going on on Golf 2. Buncombe, Polk, Rutherford, & Asheville PD were/are running all the calls in Henderson county and still being dispatched by Henderson County EOC. Golf 1 was also patched to the Henderson County Nexedge event Alpha.

Viper Statewide Bravo 2 being used by multiple units including SHP, and several fire departments as they head to Chapel Hill to pick up the body of fallen fire hero Jason Dean, a 20 year veteran of the Clayton fire department, who's life was cut short by Covid. Prayers are with his family and fellow firefighters.

Just did my weekly update on the scanner and noticed there was one new VIPER site imported, looked at the VIPER database changelog and noticed multiple sites have been updated this past week by @trumpetman.

If you are having problems receiving a site it may have changed the control channel or actual frequencies, and I urge you to update the VIPER channels in the scanner, if this is the case.

This may be old news, but it's new to me:

Heard a keyup on Alleghany SO (TG 4404) with UID 90034. That's the first time I've heard anything from Alleghany on VIPER. I'll have to listen more to see if they have possibly started a patch... no idea at this point.

Also, for the first time I am hearing Wilkes FD 1 on VIPER (TG 49504). I can hear both units and dispatch on a patch from their VHF freq (all traffic on UID 1930065). I don't know how long this as been going on since I don't monitor those towers much, but that's the first time I've heard more than just testing on the Wilkes TGs.
Ref Wilkes: I believe at the start of this year, the county patched FD 1 and EMS Dispatch to VIPER. Ashe County is also doing this on their main fire dispatch channel.

Monitoring NCSHP training today on unlisted TG 52737, another group is also doing traing on SHP INV (TG 52223). Must be using loaner or training radios as they all have RIDs of 2160xxx.

Another training day for the NCSHP on same two unlisted talkgroups. Convinced these are SHP SRT talkgroups (possibly training).
