Actually the same TG is able to be both, don't ask me how I don't totally know, but on SHP AIR TG 52127 the same TG is used as CH 1 and CH 2, with 1 being clear and 2 being encrypted.

That said, do you have the UIDs for those SHP units, if they are 2126xxx that may be used by VIPER thechs, as 52243 to 52248 are all used by Viper Techs usually.

UIDs were 21525xx and 21607xx.

I have an NCSHP question. I have:

Chatham(and Lee)-D District 1
Durham-C District 7
Harnett-B District 8
Orange-D District 7
Wake-C District 3
(all TG#'s n' CC's are per the RRDB)

The reason I mention all those, is several reasons.

All the others come in fine. But Troop C District 3 doesn't come in at all. That is Wake County.

I really don't understand the question, it's not a District C-3 issue as I hear them all the time, it might be the tower you are using.

Troop C District 3

But your response does make me curious.

On all the other counties. I am using CC/ACC from Viper. But with Wake, I am using the CC/ACC from the Cary/Wake25 system, not Viper.

Monitoring Salisbury Viper site I just noticed the RFSS is no longer 2 it is now 4, and the site ID changed from 78 to 35. Faith Mountain and Concord have not changed.

Thank you. I noticed yesterday afternoon that a few of my pagers show out of range while locked in on Salisbury site 78. I'll need to make that change.

I wonder what else is going to change, other than Salisbury site 4, and site ID of 35. Up to now, all I have seen is RFSS 1,2 and 3 as listed in the RR database.

The RFSS of 4 is new, anyone who can confirm the different sites and changes should submit this to the RR database through the submit tab on the database page.

I didn't notice the change until yesterday and I didn't know that there was a site 4.

I'm not going to submit any information to the database because I don't know enough about the change but I can confirm that site 4 is correct.
Maybe Trumpetman can help us with more specific information.

I would speculate to say that this has something to do with adding the new Viper district "Piedmont", in addition to East, Central and West. There have been TG's added that reflect this new area but there was no indication on when these TG's would be put into service. Since West is 1, Central is 2 and East is 3, it only makes sense that the new Piedmont area would be 4. I'll even go as far to say that all Viper sites in this new Piedmont area will be changed to 4 and it may just be that the Salisbury site was the first one.

Yes hope @trumpetman will comment here about the change
I am not close enough to many other sites to find any other changes except 6 sites that I can receive. Three are not very close, but I was able to get them long enough to check. Concord, Faith Mountain, Heathway Drive, Jefferson Mountain and Pores Knob have not changed. Only Salisbury RFSS 4 Site 35. I am not able to check any others.

Interesting and maybe we will see that come about soon. I cannot receive High Rock or Mooresville from my location. I am about 2 miles from the Salisbury site. This has gotten me thinking about setting up 4 systems for each zone in Viper on my SDS100 instead of the one I have to make it easier to scroll through them on Site Hold. I currently enable relative location sites with Quick keys, i.e. the Salisbury and Faith Mountain sites are QK 53 for Troop E district 3. This works pretty good except I have to learn the actual boundaries of the sites as I travel, besides studying their footprint on the map relative to the NCSHP Troop and district they would cover. Obviously there is a lot of geographical overlap.

That's interesting. I am about 5 miles (as the crow flies) from the Salisbury site and with the stock antennas on my Gx pagers, I can receive Salisbury, Faith, Mooresville, High Rock, Concord, Mocksville and, at times, Barium Springs. I use exterior yagi antennas about 25' high to pick up even more locations farther out.

Obviously has to do with my particular location. Most of the time I get Pores Knob very well just off the stock antenna on the SDS100, but I cannot get much of anything else but Concord, Faith, Salisbury and Pores Knob reliably.

I know that. The confusion is. Since Wake upgraded from Motorola to P25, the CC/ACC is now part of the Cary/Wake25 system. Or do I create a separate 'system' entirely. So as to keep using the CC/ACC on Viper, specifically for Wake County?

I'm really not following you, C-6 in Durham has nothing to do with the P25 Durham system, there were no changes to VIPER, the change was Wake County, VIPER and agencies on it are totally separate from county radio systems. NCSHP is on Viper for normal ops, not county systems.

Is the confusion due to the fact there are Wake County TGs listed in Viper? I once asked something about this and was quickly corrected that Wake was not on Viper, although I could see the difference, I just left it alone. I had a question about the Viper sites in Wake. For some reason the responder thought I was talking about the Wake county system. Maybe some clarification could help from monitors in the area.

From the VIPER database. This is somewhat confusing. Are they all not backup, or is Wake SO dispatched
on Viper? I wouldn't think they are.

Except for the Wake County Sheriff Dispatch talkgroup all Wake County talkgroups are for backup purposes only.

It actually looks like Wake SO is strictly on the Cary/Wake P25 system. Cary/Wake P25 Trunking System, Cary, North Carolina - Scanner Frequencies
