It's like having a drivers license but not owning a vehicle. Just cause you got it don't mean you are using it. NCSHP Lowband is dead and gone. R.I.P. KIB898
RIP KIB896 Pores Knob. My dad took me up on Pores Knob one time when I was a kid back in the 60s when he was assigned to F2. He requested a transfer to Rowan in 1970 and retired while in Rowan. Pores Knob always came in loud and clear in Rowan. It still does on Viper. I can receive the Pores Knob site and listen to F2 traffic in Wilkes from the China Grove area as well as F4 of course and lot of E5.

Pores Knob going strong in Eastern Iredell county as well, almost to Rowan. That’s the only tower I can receive and affiliate to in my house

I receive it with just the stock antennas on all my Unidens. BCD996P2 works best. Antenna length at 10 inches is apparently close to 50 ohms balanced with the radio case. 700/800 strongest at that length. On the handhelds the Remtronix helps a bit. I pretty much dedicate the BCD325P2 with Remtronix for Pores Knob.

Please refresh my memory, I'm old and forgetful, not a young bright intelligent college student like some on here, what map are we talking about?

The Google map version is no longer available, I get 404 Error
Same here that map doesn't open for me either

Yes. Viper doesn't have any TDMA groups yet

Well, the Talkgroups will be the same for the most part. That won't change; except for new talkgroups being added and some old ones re-named. As far as TDMA, most if-not all Sites are now Phase-2 compatible already. Most of the new codeplugs have already been built out and are currently being programmed into the various County radios as we speak. Pretty much all that will be needed is to flip the switch to Phase-2!
