VIPER Statewide Events TGs HOTEL 1 (51983), HOTEL 2 (51984) and HOTEL 3 (51985) being used for the Chris Brown concert at Carter Finley Stadium in Raleigh tonight. It sounds like Hotel 1 is interior LE and Hotel 3 is the traffic TGs. They are expecting over 50,000 people at the sold out show.

Units using RIDs of 2141xxx is NCSU PD, there are also NCSHP and various local agencies working the event.

Statewide event TG Golf 1 is being used for the State Fairgrounds staff today and is unrelated to the concert.

I am hearing a new talk group 13547 Cumberland County anyone have any ideas on the user?
The database has that TG 13547 as Cape Fear Valley Air 2, EMS-TAC, under the Statewide Medical Transport category.

I don't have any hits on that TG from any towers in my area, so I can't say what agencies are using it.

Thank you, I was only looking under the county rather than full TG list when I responded

Parked my SDR on the Chatham Mountain 013 (D) VIPER site and let UniTrunker run for a few hours.

Here's pic of the Encrypted talkgroups that have been logged. Many are unidentified, but the users are easy to determine. I made notes in the 'brief' column as to the users logged on a talkgroup.

Quite a few have recently switched to full-time ENC since I last monitored that tower back in September.
Such TG are:

4245 Mebane PD now ENC
4187 Elon/Gibsonville PD ENC
4174 Alamance Co SO NARC ENC
4173 Alamance Co SO Disp 2 ENC
4169 Alamance Co SO DISP ENC
10000 Chatham Co EM partial encryption depending on user
10008 Chowan Co SO DISP is now ENC
32507 Nash Co TAC 1 is ENC
38509 Randolph FD Disp had some encrypted use awhile back, but the user radio ID range didn't match the typical FD radios
38536 Randolph Special OPS is ENC

Unidentified TGs that are ENC:
TGs 10017, 10018 and 10019 being used by Chatham Co SO full time ENC
TG 10022 seems to be a LEO TAC for Chatham County as I see Pittsboro PD and Siler City PD hits on it, all ENC

Any clues on 65535 talk group. A report of two patients involved in an mvc and their conditions. That's all I could copy.

VIPER database question for all, I noticed that two TGs in the federal TG range (61453 & 61454) are listed as Pasquotank County TGs. Pasquotank County uses the 35xxx series of TGs, and I'm wondering if someone heard Pasquotank FD training with a government/military agency and assumed they were the County's TGs rather than the government agency's TGs. Can anyone share their thoughts on this? Maybe @ericcarlson can give us his thoughts?

I submitted those. No idea why they're in that range but only Pasquotank Fire has used those talk groups many times for training over the past year or two. Those talk groups are in all their radios, I've never seen any federal radio IDs appear on those talk groups or even affiliate on them.

If you go to the attached link and filter those 2 talk groups which are at the end of the list, you can listen to them training OpenMHz

You have the coastguard station up there. Maybe the county lends these radios to them and that's their common training talkgroups between the county and the station

I submitted a ticket to RR VIPER Admins, regarding my home county(Chatham), with link to your post showing your SDR pic.

Yes, looks like this will be a cell tower. I have not personally seen any towers with both VIPER and cellular gear.
I only know of one and it's in Stumpy Point, NC. Verizon and AT&T are on it.

I believe I read that VIPER doesn't lease to outside firms unless there is a very good reason. In this case the area has no other towers, is very landlocked by water on one side and Navy Dare/Air Force bombing range on the other, and the local water tower was already occupied by US Cellular.
