Rare chance to hear cary PD in the clear, parade Ops on W Event 9 TG 46847
I'm trying to update the programming on my Uniden 396XT. I'm using ProScan, and importing the Wake County Fire and Police talkgroups along with the Wake Simulcast and Cary Simulcast frequencies.
Thanks! She's chatty now, albeit with a lot of simulcast distortion.

It sounded like you didn't have the page for the new system. Was there something in particular on that list you were trying to lead me to?

Try both sets. But not at the same time.Any idea which of those frequencies or control channels come from the Durant tower and which come from the Holly Springs(?) tower? I'd like to test whether using only one set of frequencies and control channels improves simulcast distortion.
Please let me know if I'm misunderstanding the relationship between simulcast distortion, transmissions from multiple towers, and frequencies and control channels.
P25 does not have analog capabilityWas the analog channel for 'WC EMS ALERT' shutdown in favor of the digital channel on Cary/Wake25? I was getting marginal traffic on the analog channel. But not the digital channel.

Well, The essence of my asking. More than saying I was having trouble hearing the analog, is. Why does Wake County have both analog, and digital for 'WC EMS ALERT'? Is the TG just a backup?P25 does not have analog capability
They have analog VHF frequencies for fire/ems alerts in the 154/156 MHz range. This is what he was talking about.

Just a reception report -- handheld Unication G5 inside the house down by Wilson's Mills in Johnston County, getting 3 to 4 bars and great decodes.
