Washington County is moving forward with adding 700Mhz P25 Phase II simulcast sites into its VHF P25 Phase I simulcast system. Initially 4 sites will be simulcasting the 700Mhz P25 Phase II signals. (towers in West Bend, Slinger, Hartford and Germantown) The new overlay will be linear simulcasting while the core VHF system will still be in non-linear simulcast mode.(If you can scan it now.. nothing will change)
An ISSI gateway will bring in more talk-groups from surrounding new P25 county systems onto the Wash Co system- similar to what is currently in place between Ozaukee County and Washington County, where you can hear each others talk-groups on the others system.
If you are lucky enough to have any of these scanners : Digital P25 Phase II Scanners you should be able to scan the new 700Mhz towers when they come online.
This will be one of the only Phase II systems in the SE WI area, as Waukesha and Milwaukee have chosen to use Phase I at this time.
Ozaukee County is also planning to move to 800Mhz P25 Phase II simulcast. Time line is unknown at this time.
Wash Co project completion date should be sometime by the end of 2016/ early 2017.
...Make sure you scan and scan often...
Peace~
